Oh fuck. If it's a Jones he's got a good chance to be back for the playoffs, if it's a Lisfranc fracture... See you in 2016

I tried to lock the other thread -- i'm an infrequent mod and it's a new board, so if it didn't lock, so be it. if it did lock, apologies to whomever started that one -- nothing wrong with it, just that no need to have two injury threads.

oh, and: fuck.

Dez Bryant missed seven weeks. Seven weeks from tonight would be the RS finale @ Miami. There would be two more weeks until the first playoff game, assuming a bye. He'll be back.

This sucks but we're 9-0 and Denver is 7-2. We should still get a bye. If we lose 1 to Cincy, so be it and they could bungle their way out of the divisional round anyways.

A case can be made that they should be favorites in each of the remaining games. I think the last two -- at Jets, at Dolphins -- may be sketchy cause both are on the road and it may be do or die for one or both of them.

The O-line may be the most pressing concern with Buffalo coming in and the Pats then hitting the road to Denver.

Other guys at other positions just have to step up.

It would have been great if Wes Welker waited 1 more week for a job. Fucking A. With all the other injuries, how can they stash Edelman on the 53 man roster and also put the right number of guys in uniform each week?

I would think one of Marcus Cannon, Sebastian Vollmer, or Tre Jackson would have to get better pretty damn quick (next 1-2 weeks).

Unless the player that gets hurt is named Brady the team will work around it and be competitive with anyone. Frustrating because it seems like pats have the best team with any sort of average injury luck but still a contender even if Edelman is done

LaFell as well. Getting Edelman back for the playoffs would be a huge lift while Brady feels out the rest of his weapons.
While this is really lousy news, its the best case of a bad scenario. Also, long-term it could help the club as it gives some players great opportunities for expanded roles and development. If White or Dobson can find grow, we'll be even more dangerous come playoff time. Not saying that either is likely, but it is an opportunity.

Once the OLine starts getting healthy, I wonder if McDaniels and Brady start testing out the mid to deep game with LaFell and Dobson. Amendola is going to slide into Edelman's role tho so they don't have to totally scrap that part of the playbook.

Keyshawn Martin needs to come back. Not sure who else that can fill in on such short notice.

Just come back for the playoffs. Getting a bye is now that much more important.

They aren't going to lose to Buffalo at home. The road games might get dicey. They might be able to go 3-4 an get a bye, Denver fairy dust seems to be depleted

They still have cuttable guys they will stash him. They don't need to add another wideout

Per my ortho buddy....most likely 5th metatarsal....surgery best option.,,,back for week 17 or payoffs a realistic outcome if no setbacks.

If he really does have a Jones fracture, and that's certainly what's being reported, he should/could be back for week 17 or the first playoff game.

Hey, bright side of things, he won't get beaten to shit over the next 7 weeks and he'll be fresh for the playoffs...

Amendola stepped up huge today and can be a valuable weapon the rest of the year, but will definitely need Jules come playoff time.

Seven games to go. Four more wins and they wrap up the AFC East. Three and they still might, depending on tiebreakers. I see Titans and Texans on the schedule still. I think Pats win the East.
10-6 probably gets a WC this year, and it is almost impossible for 11-5 to not make it. If they can't slip in 2 more wins I'd be pretty astonished. I'd almost like to see gronk, brady and collins sit out until January.

Ok. All kidding aside, a win against Denver in two weeks all but assures the bye. The Pats would have, at worst, a three game lead with six to play. And with Peyton disintegrating in front of our eyes I like our chances, injuries be damned.

Holy crap. Nip, delete your f'n post - the absurd replies taking you serious are cluttering this place up. As for Edelman, put me in the "reasonably happy" camp given the possible outcomes. 6-7 weeks off equals like 3-4 concussed hits he won't add to his count... Get the 2-seed, get Edelman back for playoffs, I like team's chances.

Why are you conceding the 1 seed? I still have every bit of confidence the Pats win out, and at the very least finish up with a better record than cincy. That sleeping beauty I going to turn back into a pumpkin any week now.
