I recorded last nights Cs game, carefully avoided any news, then while I was watching over breakfast this morning. ESPN+ The Lead was giving live updates during my recorded game. I didn't notice at first. but then after the first quarter, the result was ruined.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas for solutions? Watching basketball alone is pretty much only fun if I don't have to watch commercials, reviews, and, at times, free throws.

I'm livid.

Wait, if it was recorded, how was there a live component? I've watched replays of games in the early morning (Sox in 2, etc) where the ticker at the bottom of the screen is still live and will spoil the results of the game I'm watching, but I understand that as a hazard of watching the replay. If you recorded the live game, shouldn't the ticker be showing what was in the original broadcast?

What service do you use? There is often a setting you can opt into to only record the first showing of a game/show, which would avoid this issue that must have been caused by ESPN replaying the game over night. Youtube TV also allows you to "Choose Recording" if it has multiple versions of the same event, you just need to make sure to scroll down before starting.

Ack... you got it. I recorded it twice and I was watching the second recording. Good detective work. Now, I am mostly mad at myself.

To the bolded... to be honest, the game was somewhat over after the first quarter in real time as well...
