Goes without saying, but a huge series in the Bronx after a rugged sweep in Tampa.

Duran is 160/192/200 vs lefties
26 plate appearances. One would think the guy who is 7 years younger may have more upside. Would rather even give the at bats to Franchy.

Regardless, shows a desperate need for another RH OF bat. This has got to be one of the least productive OF in baseball.

42 for JBJ

It's a negligible difference
Ok, what about the road splits, and JBJ’s overall performance the last two seasons. The guy is toast; he’s a sub 500 ops guy away from Fenway and has no future here, seems like it could benefit the team now and in the future to get Franchy and Duran more AB (of course, they may stink at it too).

There's a lot of ground to cover out there in the terlet. JBJ starting in center may be more about defense with Eovaldi making his first start back from the DL.

Unless that's misinformation, how does announcing the pitch limit help the Red Sox?
It doesn't, but it's really not that important. It's not as though he's giving away anything secret. The Yankees know that a pitcher coming off an extended IL stay is on a pitch limit, and they likely would have an 80 pitch limit on any of their pitchers in a similar situation.

Jackie starting against a lefty on the road.

So far he’s hitting 143/217/238 vs lefties and 130/196/171 on the road.
I think Cora is tired of outs and singles turning into doubles and triples. (I SURE AM). So it solves 1 problem. A barely functioning Yugo doesn't solve a lot of problems. But it keeps you from having to walk 8 miles to and from work.

I *think* Billy Martin once said how fortunate it was that Ron LeFlore was fast, so he could chase after all those balls he missed.

Fake Edit. He never managed LeFlore. So either someone else said it, or Martin was talking about someone else. Regardless, I'm dying on JBJ hill tonight.

Cora did this with Franchy also. He would pinch hit him fro Dalbec against lefties even though the number of at bats that Franchy has against lefties is not a large enough number to draw any conclusions. There is no planet were JBJ is a better option then Duran.

Except the planet where batters hit the ball to center field.

It's true that it's the mfy instead of the Rays, but after the Rays mess, I'm not sure there's anywhere to go but up.
You'd think that, but until you roll over you don't know if it's the bottom or merely a ledge on the side of the pit.
