Correct. And referees tend to put it just outside the box if there's any doubt.
I thought it can be a penalty if the fouling continues within the box. Sure looked like they weren't done touching each other until they'd crossed the line.

And yeah, if time is supposed to be stopped in between the ball going out of play (on that rebound) and getting back into play (for the corner), it's kinda BS for a ref to just end it during a dead ball. I mean, there was a solid 90 seconds between calling the foul and the ball being kicked, too.

Portugal have been incredibly static. They were very active versus Iceland always looking to get on the ball but today it seems there is nobody available. Carvalho in particular looks leggy and slow

I think Santos sat Danilo for William due to wanting more size vs Janko. If he doesn't play, I'd expect Danilo and Renato to come in and pick up the pace.

Tim Thomas' Bunker
The atmosphere at the Stade Velodrome was incredible. The Hungarian fans really showed out and were loud and rabid. I thought that the Irish and Swedes had a good showing Monday night, but this was on another level. I don't know how much it showed on TV.

On another topic, the security to get into the stadium was so poorly handled. I understand safety with regards to terrorism, but they funneled all of the fans into two entrances. Furthermore, they were only allowing a few people at a time so that they could frisk them. When you have a bunch of impatient, drunk fans and a huge crowd, it has the potential to create a crush. As far as I know, I don't think anyone was hurt, but the potential was easily there. It was unacceptable.

The atmosphere totally transferred to TV. The Hungarian supporters were amazing.

Obviously from a competitive standpoint it makes the most sense, but I'm pretty bummed out not to be able to just watch 6 hours of soccer today or both games of the group finale.

Impressive no call on a hold so bad he ripped half the shirt off.
France getting a lot of bad calls in their favor.
Edit-and another, I'd put that at 5 very bad calls all favoring France.

Haven't looked through the thread to see if anyone else has made this comment but seeing a Rodriguez wearing #13 (on Switzerland) reflexively inspires hate.
