Second goal seems to have woken Germany up and back to their first half form, but it's probably too late. If they can nick one in the next 5 minutes, France may prefer it had stayed 1-0 with a sleeping dragon.

If Twellman is right that's amazing.
Basically the whole attack of France is from players who never made a France youth side?

so to update... Twellman was wrong.
Payet played U-21
Griezmann played every youth level

Giroud did not.

So watching France. Imagine if West Ham had made the right decision when they were down to Kante or Song for DM last summer.

I had a longer response but Ill keep it brief. For those who doubted Pogbas impact in the first half I have two questions:

1) In which parts of the pitch was France pressing?

2) How many chances all game did Germany have through the middle?

he had an inconsistent game, much better after the half, but he made some really bad passes throughout (so did Payet). He was very good overall, but he made some bad decisions early.

Germany
1) When you don´t shoot on the goal or create really dangerous chances, you don´t win the game.
2) We need more CFs and players who can score regularly for the future. Kroos, Özil in MF are no scorers, then Müller out of form and that´s it...
3) It was a penalty, as Schweinsteiger did basically (in another move, but the same behaviour --> sticking out the hand in an unnatural position and got the ball headed at it) like Boateng in the quarterfinal vs.Italy. Just dumb. And probably decisive.
4) I don´t say anything against the ref, he controlled the game, I saw some minor things here, some minor things there. But honestly, how dumb do you have to be (UEFA) to place a ref for a game where one team (GER) just kicked out your home nation (ITA). That just should never, ever happen and if he made a single mistake, that would have been the reason why. As a ref, you never want to decide the game (and he did), but he had to, because of Schweinsteiger´s mistake.
5) Biggest loser´s for Germany: Schweinsteiger due to the handball, Neuer (should have handled the cross better that led to the 2nd, part goes to Kimmich before the cross, but I forgive the youngster and not the world´s best keeper!), Löw (why bring in Sané and no Schürrle earlier? Don´t get it...), and also somehow Emre Can, who wasn´t really up to Khedira´s performance.
6) Fuck the baguette-heads.

I missed the game live but no problem, ESPN is replaying the game now so I can watch it before I find out who won. Except that during half time, they just showed a commercial for the France vs. Portugal final. Thanks a lot, ESPN.

Missed the first half, catching the replay it's fair to say that Germany played like entitled champs, content to knock it around but not really attack. France's speed advantage (other than Giroud) was also apparent. Germany should not complain, they had every opportunity to grab a lead but they didn't create enough real chances.

I don't know a thing about him nor do I have a well reasoned view as basis, but that guy just doesn't inspire me with confidence in his acumen.

I thought Germany was plainly the better side and just got massively unlucky.

Besides the lack of wisdom by German defenders in touching the ball with their hands, I think I see a ton of tiki taka penalties that just get on my nerves. May be non-intentional handballs in the box should be whistled as indirect free kicks.

I only caught the last 20 minutes or so, but I felt Germany got a bit unlucky too. They were creating chances, the chances just weren't going in. Look at my post above. That was in a 5 minute span. I don't know if the lack of a true #9 killed them so much as Muller's inability to find the net in this tournament. They just didn't really have someone in form. Draxler is going to be a nice player but he is still developing and becoming more consistent. Gotze hasn't been the same since his move to Bayern. Ozil and Kroos aren't going to score the goals, but they might provide them. This German side was mysteriously lacking teeth.

When you miss 70 minutes of a game, you're not really in a position to comment on the whole game, no.

I watched the 5th inning of the sox game the other night- Wright was unhittable!

I agree that Germany was unlucky. They struck the post at least once, Lloris made one or two outstanding saves, and a couple of shots went just wide. That being said, they did struggle without a bona fide striker. I also think Low didn't pick the best midfield and was too slow to adjust. For instance, leaving Schurrle on the bench with Schweiny and Can probably limited them a bit. I also think highly of Khedira and thought he could've had a role in this game.

Anywhere to watch the game in Boston today that isn't Phoenix Landing? In other words, a place that has a decent crowd but isn't completely packed.

Portugal midfield is surprisingly not up to this press. He may need to look to Moutinho to get some composure on the ball on the pitch

Take him out now and bring him in for 2nd half extra time when everyone else is gassed?
