it’s so poisonous.

Moshiri allegedly begged Kenwright to stay on temporarily because of his “transfer window acumen.” Which is laughable based on recent form, and is also a kick in the crotch to current DOF Kevin Thelwell, who doesn’t really need this has been looking over his shoulder and cutting his own deals. The same dynamic of Kenwright and Moshiri freelancing and buying players without consulting the manager and DOF has been a problem since Moyes left.

I think that the real reason Moshiri wanted Kenwright is that neither Thelwell nor the new investment group wants to enable Moshiris true purpose, which is as a mole and frontman for Usmanov - who since Russia invaded Ukraine is officially persona non grata in the UK and PL, and Usmanovs network of leeches and hangers on, like Kia and this guy.

The sole source of Moshiris wealth is as the accountant and advisor to Usmanov’s extraction industries/Russian government contracts/criminal enterprises (this Venn diagram is a single circle). Moshiri does not have the fortune to support the club by himself, especially with the new stadium that had sold its naming rights to Usmanov before he got blacklisted. Usmanov must still be providing funds illicitly and calling the shots. Moshiri was Usmanov’s puppet at Everton even before Usmanov got run out of Arsenal.

I’m so fucking disgusted. Moshiri and Kenwright are inept, dishonest, and untruthful. MSP is supposed to get some seats on the board in return for their investment and I did not think that Moshiri would go away anytime soon, but with his holdings diluted and professional management scrutinizing him he’d at least have checks on his worst impulses, and there wouldn’t be anyone who wanted to play Football Manager by paying $45M for whichever Sky Six washout attracted BK like a shiny object catching the eye of a bird. This is awful.

the only hope is that according to the folks I chat with the source for this story is an even shittier and less reliable scumbag so it is probably fiction. Probably.

So still rumored are:

-Gionto. Leeds are digging in but the player has submitted a written transfer request. I was today years old when I learned that this supposedly costs the player money out of pocket. When the player wants to go that badly they usually get their way.

-Che Adams. Che Adams is nobody's idea of a great striker but he is a big body at #9 that allows Dyche to have a pretty good crop of wingers now, getting to the endline and crossing to a target. Che can hold up and he can score tap-ins, the 5'4" Neal Maupay can do neither. It lets the squad play the same way to spell DCL or if he's out, which is essential.

With another CB, honestly I'd be happy with that window. With a full season under Dyche, I think that's a side that stays clear of the drop zone and has a chance of top-half if they gel.

I think a transfer request costs a player not in the sense that they have to pay to submit a request, but that it voids certain bonuses in their contract (e.g. some players have bonuses if they get sold, but asking to be sold voids that).

Agree with you on Che. There are two totally non-football reasons I would like having Che: 1. it means the names of the players we brought in could spell DYCHCHE. 2. Che Adams' middle name is literally Everton (Ché Zach Everton Fred Adams). Short of signing Everton (Soares) from Flamengo that's going to be the closest thing we have to a player named Everton

Re: Che Adams. £12M is not a lot of money these days to upgrade on Maupay, which is essential for Everton. Adams at least has a goal in him. Maupay, at this moment in his career, does not. I feel for Maupay, cos he gets destroyed on social media and he knows about it, has talked about it and it's sad. But he cannae score. With decent service and support in the final third Adams will get you a few goals and assists. The price tag seems about right to me. Adams got the sinning goal for the Saints in their first game of the season. Came off the bench late in the game and found himself in the box to slot home the winner. Tidy finish too.
