Still. Montreal is a garbage team. They're not good, and yet. They're absolutely smoking Winnipeg right now. And they knocked out Toronto who many (lol) considered a Cup contender.
Winnipeg was a team I slept on in the first round for a lot of the same reasons they’re getting skinned alive this round: their depth below their top 6 sucks forwards sucks and their defence is Josh Morrisey and 5 other guys. The only reason it worked against Edmonton is they’re even thinner and Hellebuyck is at least a Vezina-caliber goalie.

It's quite possibly that with a normal season with normal divisions, Edmonton Winnipeg and Montreal all miss the playoffs.

62-30 Corsi for the Habs. LOL Winnipeg.

I'm going to fucking explode if this crappy Montreal squad makes it farther into the playoffs than the Bs do.

What in the world is the goalie doing there
I've never played the game at all, let alone tended goal, so I have no clue what Grubauer was looking for there. Was he trying to cheat on a potential redirect and just got caught off-guard by a direct shot?

When you're watching a game on TV, it's constant back and forth; when you're at a game live, the speed of the game is incredible...................trust me, when you are actually on the ice, the speed is ramped up even more, I think he literally lost track of the puck.................it happens.

I find it absurd that these two powerhouses have to play each other now, then whoever survives gets to play a team with 23 less points than them in the Stanley Cup semi final.

As tremendous as playoff hockey is, this league sucks at getting the playoffs right.

In a season cut short/played only within each division, they should have just lined the teams up 1-16 and go from there.............I mean how hard is that?

what the hell is happening?
4 goals on 16 shots from Vegas....................Colorado could not clear the puck at the end of the period and it cost them after tying it up a few minutes prior.

Every time Colorado ties it, Vegas bangs home the go ahead goal.

Given the travel restrictions to Canada, quite hard.

To add to that, the Canadian provinces are generally behind US states, which are all pretty much status quo ante at this stage. There’s still nothing done for interprovincial travel, and while vaccination rates have pretty much caught up with the US, Manitoba is still shaking off its third wave, so anything involving the Jets would’ve been a nightmare. The good news is that if everything holds up, I have to believe that the league is back to normal for opening night, or at least close enough for cross-border play again.

I don't hate Vegas like I do the other 3 teams that are left, but man, it's getting kind of old watching teams that actually play an exciting hockey style get knocked out in the 2nd round to teams that man handle them.

Go Vegas, I guess.

I find Vegas's style exciting. They kind of remind me of the Big Bad Bruins from 10 years ago (shit that makes me feel old).

I just realized DeBoer can reach his 3rd final in 10 years with his 3rd different team.

Fleury is absolutely a lock for the HOF. And people are still debating whether or not he would go 1st overall in a 2003 redraft.

That draft is still paying major dividends in this postseason. Especially in the Vegas-Montreal series (Weber, Perry, Staal, Fleury)
