Guys, I don't think Marcus Smart or Harrison Barnes or anyone else is saving this team. After hearing Gorman today, and then Wyc's interview with Felger, I thought this team would come out with some fire tonight.

In fairness, can't expect many rebounds when you're defense doesn't even try to force a missed shot.

Why? The starting unit was fine, it was the bench that got TORCHED. Teaguemade some terrible plays, but his overal play has honestly been better than Pritchard who put up a 7 trillion and defended nobody.
4 of the 6 were offensive including all 3 of Thompson's.
Scal pointed out a minute ago that they're showing no effort getting into their sets, so it likely isn't helping them get better looks
I think that turnover was the result of the Celtic's defense being so discombobulated, the Hawks didn't know which open guy to pass to.
That's bad and mainly a function of poor team defense. I don't think it's because they are "going through the motions."
The roster constructed as-is truly is flawed, but not to this degree. At some point executing an assignment and strong effort make a mediocre team into a good one, a good one into a better one...
Great defense, leads to a Tatum transition, he slows it down, never passes and misses another one. Then he absolutely rakes Rondo on the other end instead of playing defense and is fortunate to not get called.
If roster construction was truly the only issue this team has, we should all be rooting for them to end up with a top 5 pick. The problem is that this isn't a bottom 5 NBA team, they are just playing like one night in and night out, and we keep hoping for more.
Yeah some of this shooting is unsustainable but still, this is the effort these guys are putting in after Sunday and after last night. Total joke.
