I mean, there's no way in hell this happens for the Bruins... but I feel like Laine would be a dream alongside Krejci. Have the think this kind of deal start with DeBrusk, one of the center, and a 1st, though, right?
They’d probably want Pastrnak and McAvoy.

So.... do you make that trade?

(I'm joking, clearly, but a guy like Laine "maybe being available" is really interesting. At least to me.)

Laine is an off-season trade target. Right now he is a hot mess but obv there is a ton of upside. Still never been a possession player so might not be the best fit for B's. Certainly would give me pause to give up DeBrusk for him right now. Debrusk is as hot as they come in 2019 and Laine has been a significant liability in 2019.

Lucic, out there hahahahahaha.
Any word on if Chris Pronger is available?

Maybe if they attach RNH or Nurse with Lucic they could move him.

Laine’s not going anywhere. The chatter has surfaced due to Winnipeg’s upcoming cap crunch. They have Laine, Connor and Trouba as big ticket RFA’s, plus Wheeler’s extension kicks in next season. Laine is going to want close to Matthews money, and he’s had a weird year. I guess there is a scenario where they trade him in the offseason, but it seems very, very unlikely.

In talking with clubs it feels like there are still two big deals to complete today. Not just Stone but one other elephant sized deal brewing. Could be one of Bob or Panarin or a third option non UFA players moving. Several teams still grinding away big game hunting! @NHLNetwork

Some buzz on Twitter about Toffoli and the Bruins but no reputable sources so far. Seems like everyone is playing a game of chicken with the Flyers (Simmonds) and the Sens (Stone).

Sounds like Brannström going back to Ottawa, that's automatically better than anything Boston could've given up IMO outside of McAvoy. Vaakanainen's the real deal but he has nowhere near Brannström's offensive upside

Brannström, Oskar Lindberg, 2020 DAL 2nd going to Ottawa
Stone to Vegas

I think people are going to slate that return, but Brannström is IMO a top 5-10 prospect in the game and wouldn't be someone I'd move for Stone if he were a Bruin

May he be referred to as Brainstorm forevermore

You'd move him if Stone was to re-sign which Dreger thinks it's extremely likely.

Brainstorm, Lindbergh and a 2nd...that’s not steep
That's less than I expected, but Boston couldn't compete with a prospect of that quality. Curious what the ask was for the Bruins. Probably Vaakanainen *and* Studnicka *and* a pick, which I would have had problems with unless they had an extension in place

Unless Stone were to be signed at a discount (~$7.5m AAV), I wouldn't move Brännström for him. He's putting up 0.7 pts/game as a 19 year old defenseman in the AHL.

At 8 years, $9m AAV for Stone, no way I'd have given up a prospect like that, but Vegas has the cap room and the prospect pool to be able to do that. Good for them
