As in, hasn't played, or did he change his name to Manny Rodriguez and start playing SS?

Edit: last news I see is that his season is on pause

I didn't know he had left.

I just quickly linked to the team stats because they are still claiming he is on the roster -- at least on the roster update page. I figured the link would have his numbers in there -- and it may still I suppose.

I'm confused...were there stats up there for Manny at one point?

"Free-agent infielder Brock Holt in agreement with Rangers on minor-league deal, source tells @TheAthletic. Can earn $1.75M in majors with $750K in incentives. Had major-league offers but chose Rangers because of opportunity at third base. " - Ken

That is so odd. There must be more to it. If that is the reason, is it because he is tired of being a utility guy?
EDIT: Just remembered he was born in TX and probably has friends and family there.

I found this interesting:
https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2021/02/boston-red-sox-legend-david-ortiz-calls-baseball-straight-up-boring-because-hitters-strike-out-too-much-only-looking-for-homers-report.html
I very much agree with his premise, namely that baseball becomes boring when guys trying to hit home runs at almost every at bat results in strike-out after strike-out. It's interesting coming from a guy who only blossomed after he left the Twins, who wanted him to stop trying to hit homers and just get on base. I guess the difference is that Ortiz had the home-run skill that so many others lack.

He might figure that an opening in the starting lineup offers two opportunities to make the big team. Open competition for the 3B job /platoon opportunity plus his flexibility as a utility guy.

I'll be rooting seriously for Brock Holt. He was recently in Boston doing something for the Jimmy Fund and meeting with kids at Dana Farber. Genuine dedication.

Without the injury plagued 33-36 year old seasons, Colon would be on the verge or already at 300 wins. A big 'what if' but, aside from those 4 seasons, he regularly won about 15 games a season. He won 18 or more games in 5 different years, including at age 40.

0.30 is an amazingly high BAC. He is lucky he is alive.
  • 0.20-0.29%: Stupor, confusion, feeling dazed, and disorientation are common. Standing and walking may require help, as balance and muscle control will have deteriorated significantly. Sensations of pain will change, so if you fall and seriously hurt yourself, you may not notice, and you are less likely to do anything about it. Nausea and vomiting are likely to occur, and the gag reflex will be impaired, which could cause choking or aspirating on vomit. Blackouts begin at this BAC, so you may participate in events that you don’t remember.
  • 0.30-0.39%: At this point, you may be unconscious and your potential for death increases. Along with a loss of understanding, at this BAC you’ll also experience severe increases in your heart rate, irregular breathing and may have a loss of bladder control.

Was Wendell Kim the third base coach while Damon was here? Might be he's just never seen a stop sign before.

He does not look well. I don't understood how he doesn't have the wherewithall to call a fucking uber, or have a driver. I guess he was never the sharpest tho
