You’ve been watching this league a long time. Of course he’s getting suspended. It’s Toronto.
If it were on Marner or Matthew or Tavares, maybe. Not Kadri. Same reason Kadri got a match when DeBrusk mashed his face earlier; guys with a rep don't get that kind of protection.

I’ll remind people that a lot of hockey media was bracing for a long Chara suspension after the Pacioretty hit, while every ex-player near a microphone screamed that it wasn’t suspension-worthy. Let’s see what happens when the Toronto-based ex-players in the media, like Marc Savard and Jeff O’Neil, have their say.

The problem is that the league seems to base suspensions on fan and media outrage. And unfortunately, we’re playing the team that’s home to the league office. So all of those guys are going into the office on Monday hearing people flip out over DeBrusk and that hit. So he’ll be suspended. If they were playing Carolina, and nobody was taliking about it, it’s just another hit to review objectively and it gets nothing.
