Why in god's name was Tatum on Embiid on the out of bounds play?

Fucking Mazzula... no words with his timeout strategy. None.

Mazzulla not ready for the moment
I don't think it's that. It's just his philosophy that it's preferable to let the players play it out. I don't know that he's got the correct philosophy, but I don't see it as a deer in the headlights kind of thing. He's been this way the whole year, whether it's the EC semis, or a December game against the Jazz.

Why did they double Embid and leave a 3 wide open for their hottest player? Coaching will prevent this team from winning anything. Thank God we have two timeouts left though. Can’t wait to see what the boy wonder does with those.

Why are you guys killing Joe? JT got to the hole and needs to finish, or die trying. I’d live with the outcome. Not at all clear that they would’ve gotten a better shot out of the set piece.
Because they needed the time crossing half court cost them.

Up 2 points with 28 seconds left. The two things you can’t do is give up a three, and not get a shot off.
This is correct. Don't double Embiid. Let him take a contested shot. If he makes it, you still get the last shot. You don't leave James frigging Harden wide open for a three.

Well it failed twice today but maybe next time.

Jaylen got back and challenged Harden’s 3.

Mazzulla has to call timeout. Especially when they were clearly fucking around and not getting into an action
He should never have left! Deny him the ball, what in the hell are they thinking?

Absolutely unreal finish. A great shot by Smart but clearly late. And just as I said Tatum made the right decision at the end of regulation, he made the wrong one here because there was no time for anyone else to get the shot off. Tatum needs to understand the time situation.

This game was there for the taking.
He’s there at 30 feet with 6 seconds left diddly dallying like they’re tied not down 1

like wtf

Except it fails fair too often. Coaches are paid to coach, not sit on their ass and let the players figure it out.

Same. If it works out and Marcus gets the ball .5 seconds sooner we’re all happy CJM did what he did.
Completely disagree. The process was awful. I was screaming “TIMEOUT!!” when Marcus was fucking around doing nothing, draining clock

I don’t have an issue with no timeout but why not extend the game because you have the two timeouts. Go quick. If you don’t score, you get another shot to go ahead or tie.

Edit - and if you choose to walk it up to take the last shot, at least get the shot off. It’s a double fail.

They seemed gassed. I get the idea with no TO off the bucket, but you gotta read the room. They weren't ready to make a play there.

Loved the fight. Sucks to lose a close game yet again but they showed balls atleast. Call a timeout though Joe. Fucking hell.

Will a team ever miss a shot close and late against us. Trae, Harden twice. Kind of ridiculous

We should have swept these fools, they blew it, shit happens.

Doris is truly horrible. It’s like Tommy but for the Sixers doing a national broadcast.

Fucking exactly.

In a vacuum, it’s fine. When they clearly had no fucking clue what was going on, call a timeout

If this is the philosophy, then what exactly does the coach even do? Do we need a coach? Just let the players play!

Yeah to me Joe made the right call at the end, they got up court to a scrambled PHI defense with their 2 worst defenders in, Tatum just didn't execute fast enough

I don’t care if he took a timeout. Tatum should know better than to wait that long to get into a play.
Especially if he knew the play was to drive and kick (because Embiid would be waiting at the basket).

You don’t wait until under five seconds to initiate the drive — there will be no time for the kick!

Brown got back to Harden and contested, he literally had to jump sideways to not get into Harden’s landing space. I have no fucking clue how so many of you are pointing to that.

I must have had a sixth sense about this one because I ducked out for the 4th to go for a walk with Jedette. Glad I did.

This team has screwed up numerous end-of-game plays, if that’s not a reason for CJM to re-think his no TO strategy I don’t know what is.
Same players have done it with 3 different coaches. The end of game fuckups is a Celtics Special with this core.

Tatum fucked this up, not Joe.Just like Jaylen fucked up on D.There’s no way they coach him to leave Harden in that situation.
