You're allowed to hang on the rim as well if you think you're going to lose your balance. He didn't pull up on it or anything.. it was a normal basketball move. That should be a T on Tatum. Hanging on the rim when guys are all around you is fine. But hanging there for no reason other than to show off...that should be a T.
(and get off my lawn!)
Rightfully so. Burke and Davis should be killed for their tough guy nonsense. If an NFL player came back in after something like that and the announcer praised their "grit" that announcer would be facing torches and pitchforks.
Makes sense... but that one at least I think was in the flow of the offense. Embiid was sagging off and doubling.. have to make him come out and guard him on the perimeter and only way to make that happen is to make a few of those.I know, and earlier in the game, I'm fine with it. I just don't want big possessions late ending in those shots.
I get that that's "normal" now. It just looked to me like he just chose to hang there as a statement or something, not for protection. Didn't seem to me like he lost his balance or anything like that. You're allowed to hang on the rim as well if you think you're going to lose your balance. He didn't pull up on it or anything.. it was a normal basketball move.
These guy’s legs are multi million dollar tools. If players feel the need to hang on the rim to avoid injury, it should be, and is, legalI didn't see that. I saw him hang there a second or so and then other players got around him, so he hung there even longer.
