I didn’t watch the game, I did the same thing with game 7 against Toronto. Tonight I just didn’t want to deal with any bullshit reffing that took away from the actual game. Sounds like the first period has some nutty calls and then we held on (barely) after the 2nd goal. Bummed I missed a win but so glad I can watch it now and Bonus, The lawn is mowed!

I hope one of the Boston reporters asks Maurice what he thought of the goal that was not overturned.

That smarmy fucking ballbag.

Also: boneheaded late icing aside, McAvoy was huge tonight.

And along these lines, Coyle and Zacha have sure sucked so far.

I would still very much like an explanation on the league on why the play was blown dead in the first period when the bruins had bob out of position.

Monty: "players aren't buying into what we're looking for on the pp. we need to have a meeting and talk about it"

honestly a lot of the charts is voodoo to me (like I have no idea how Coyle was so + tonight) but in general it's to me at least) a quick easy way to see who had what kind of a night.

think it's based on this model

Must admit Montgomery‘s mime act on the bench was amusing. He’s right, there’s more and more diving in the league.

Goddamn! Love it. Had to play catch up on DVR and then read the game thread start to back. Don’t let us win Friday!

I only just saw it, but apparently Justin Bourne campaigned heavily that McAvoy’s goal should be disallowed as Heinen interfered with Bobrovsky in the build-up. As usual, Canadian sports media can get fucked.

I assume they both supported overturning Bennett’s goal as well then
No idea about Callahan but Bourne thought the league made the right call on the Bennett goal. IIRC, he used the phantom "didn't matter anyway" reasoning, of which I have a host of problems with. Didn't see what he said last night.

I thought last night it was pretty obvious that Bob got reset and was square to McAvoy well before the shot enters the frame. And the stick was dislodged by OEL. Seemed cut and dry to me but the rule is officiated so inconsistently that nobody knows.

I can’t find a clip of it, but on Sportsnet’s morning recap show, they played a clip of him saying Heinen made contact with Bobrovsky, and his stick jammed his skate. Also something about how Bob couldn’t reset, but yeah. He’s clearly part of the Fuck Boston crowd.

Bobrovsky obviously reset. That’s a guy seeing what he wants to see.

Marek and Friedman both thought it was coming back (although as usual neither gave their opinion of what they would’ve called). And of course Friedman joked that it counted to prevent riots from Boston fans.
