I'm not a fan of the one-game wild card playoff, but I do like these multiple Game 163s - feels like a double-elimination Little League tournament. Also makes me feel less bad for whoever loses in the NL Wild Card game since they will have lost two in a row instead of just once.

Dodger Stadium is empty. I get it's a game scheduled at the last second, and it's 1pm on a Monday, but you would think some people would go.

Sorting it out, no big differences but I agree. Oops, just remembered Nolan Arenado is a big favorite of mine. Let’s have another great game.
I always thought Bud Black did a good job managing the Padres, given what he had. So I wouldn’t mind seeing him going deep. On the other hand I would love to see my Sox out here in Dodger Stadium for the WS.

Very few people work in Angelino Heights on a Monday. It's basically residential plus bars plus hair stylists. The juice isn;t worth the squeeze with the traffic after, and with it not being lose and go home and with how far they went last year.

Dodgers fans don't care pre-WS.

I think that's clearly safe. it will be interesting to see whether they call it inconclusive.

Edit: The last replay made it look close. I think a spike on the heel may have hit the side of the base before the runner's foot got there.

Is that trivia tidbit about Desmond being the last active player drafted by the Expos only true because Brandon Phillips' season is technically over?

Rockies getting rocked. Their bats will have to wake up at some point, or else this came could be over at 7pm.

There have never been back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs in a game 163. Just sayin'.

This may have been asked, but why did they not flip flop the days of the WC games? AL should play tomorrow and NL Wednesday. It is crazy that the Rockies now have to fly to Chicago and play tomorrow. Yet there will then be 3 days off before the NLDS begins.
