And so the madness continues with many teams playing for the second time in 48 hours. I'm interested to see what happens in the Man Utd v Chelsea game and the possible implications should LvG lose again. Aside from the obvious delight that would bring me, anything that increases the chance that the owners will make the biggest mistake of their entire tenure by bringing in Jose Mourinho as a replacement makes me giddy like a schoolgirl.

NBCSN going with their "Red Zone" thing today, so just watched Stoke go up 1-0 over Everton and Spurs score the easiest goal ever vs. Watford, 1-0.

Wonderful game, I agree. Sucks that it was decided on a penalty. Also looked like offside on the 1st cross on Spurs deciding goal.

I know Everton fans are kind of annoyed right now and there's no trophy for this but they've been my favorite team to watch all season. Every match is played with intensity and attacking intent. I know Leicester are the story right now but their matches are relatively boring -- they just cede possession and find a goal on a counter.

They've won that particular award every year since Martinez took over. Except that season where Liverpool hit 57 posts.

Arsenal go up 1-0 on a free header to Gabriel off a corner. They needed a little bit of luck because otherwise they've been looking like what they are, a very tired team with six injured central midfielders that knows how to play one way but doesn't have the personnel to really pull it off.

Martin Atkinson doing his thing in this United/Chelsea match, extremely inconsistent in decisions/bookings as per usual.

How Ander Herrera doesn't have a booking is beyond me.

All Arsenal for the last 20-25 minutes of that half, with 4-5 very good chances in addition to the goal. They really should have put Bournemouth to the sword in that spell but I'll take 1-0 up.

As an Everton fan, I concur.

As an Everton fan, I also really, really wish that there was anything resembling a defense at Goodison Park. Granted, everyone's been hurt, and I have some hope that when they come back, things will be better. But JFC it's frustrating to waste great attacking performances. It takes some doing to have the top striker in the league, and still win only 3 of 10 home games.

As far as today's Everton-Stoke game: it really was "off the chain." It was like the climactic fight of a Rocky movie - all haymakers. Both teams were playing with maximum intensity, as if the losing team was going to be sacrificed in an Aztec volcano. Sucks about the final penalty, though - Stones got enough of the ball that it shouldn't have been called IMO.

A pretty obvious pen goes uncalled an City take only a point versus Leicester. Hard to be angry about it as few teams have done better there but City haven't placed themselves in a position to be happy with away points. The referee standard in this league is really appalling. Aside from the penalty there were multiple handballs not called in this one as well as offside. Getting tired of how often the refs are playing a part.
