I suppose United getting a penalty today was a given so maybe best that it happened in the 2nd minute
The only question when Martial gets the ball in the box these days is “Will he time his dramatic fall with some form of contact that will stand up to VAR scrutiny?”

In this case he did it was a stupid stupid challenge but yes there was no question he was ending that run on the ground appealing to the ref only Jesus was dumb enough to take him up on his offer

If Shaw is hurt and needs to come off we’re in big trouble. His rapport with Rashford is so much better than anyone else we have. Telles is a good player but Shaw has outplayed him comfortably

Was a strange choice by Pep to not start Foden and Bernardo today and it just didn’t work.
It’s always possible to have a bad finishing day and get done on the counter but KDB has been awful since coming back from injury and Sterling has never once beaten Wan Bissaka.

Fundamentally as good as this City side has played its performances like this and the lack of a true scorer which leaves City short in CL. It just takes too many chances to score and sometimes you just need to be clinical

Mahrez has also been poor, wasting a lot of promising positions.

Sterling seems to have plateaued/taken a slight step back this year. There's nothing wrong with him per se but it looks now he's going to end up as a merely very good wide attacker and never become the superstar his age 18-23 performances suggested he could become.

mahrez created almost everything decent first half but he’s not a hard enough man for this fixture. United are comfortable playing City on the counter and it takes legs and a willingness to focus on the initial ball turnover to prevent all the runs United have had. Based on the last month of form Bernardo would have been the best choice for 3 different positions but I suppose with the large lead Pep is trying to get minutes into legs of KDB and see if Sterling can get out of his awful funk.

I'm probably the only one watching, but Union look like dogshit today against relegation candidate Arminia Bielefeld. Bielefeld has a brand new manager and have been very hard to break down, certainly compared to Union's home fixture against them (which they won 5-0). It's 0-0 in the 68th.

Great start from Spurs. Annoyed that all it has taken is Jose playing our best attackers and letting them press.

Are Spurs this good or is Crystal Palace this bad?

I just texted my Spurs fan friend (who kindly brought me to the 4-0 embarrassment in 2019) that I hate every single thing about this game.

Wow. I was just thinking the last few minutes of the half at least didn’t make me want to vomit anymore, and then that. Totally outplayed for 35/45 minutes, but I’ll take it.

Spurs did their classic Mourinho move of coming out and attacking a weaker side until they score, and then sitting back and letting the other team back into the game. It bites them in the ass every time. They should just keep attacking.

A lot of happy FPL owners right now. I am not one of them but that's okay!

Bruno had the league lead in total goal contributions for a second.

If I had to make a single sports bet to save my life it would be West Ham to score a set piece on Leeds.

Do we talk about Europa League in here? An absolutely incredible miss by Maguire just now. Must be seen to be believed.
