I was just going to make a comment about five minutes earlier about how much better Xhaka has been and that I think Arteta may really be positively influencing him. And then that. That one will go into the all time braindead Xhaka moments Youtube compilation for sure.
Arsenal probably should have had two or three before that. Burnley have created absolutely nothing.
I think Leno is a bit to blame there.. but the whole strategy of playing around the back (with mediocre players) instead of just clearing the ball, just seems like the worst strategy ever.. Why play back to the keeper so much and invite pressure as close as you can to your own goal? That one will go into the all time braindead Xhaka moments Youtube compilation for sure.

Nah. Xhaka just needs to play a simple one time pass to Luiz in an acre of space. Then when he doesn’t he needs to play it back to Leno for a hasty clearance.I think Leno is a bit to blame there.. but the whole strategy of playing around the back (with mediocre players) instead of just clearing the ball, just seems like the worst strategy ever.. I would murder my family to be an Arsenal fan.*extremely Jim Nantz voice*
A Tradition Unlike Any Other: Arsenal ruining your weekend before 930am on a Saturday
I hate this club and everyone involved with it.
I fear @mikeford might murder his family because he is an Arsenal fan.I would murder my family to be an Arsenal fan.
I think he was barely onsideThat was a really nice goal, that I think was set up by an offside (but one that's easy to miss as it was a move from an offside position back toward the ball).
Yes, it looks good in that shot.I think he was barely onside
In theory it may make sense.. but in practice over the past few seasons under Arteta and Emery I’ve seen it create far more chances and goals for the other team. Xhaka, Luiz and Leno simply don’t have the feet to make it a wining strategy imo. It also has the added problem of keeping the ball from going upfield to your best player... Auba basically needs to get as many touches as Xhaka gets.Nah. Xhaka just needs to play a simple one time pass to Luiz in an acre of space. The reason to play it out from the back is that the alternative kind of sucks and you also create your own chances if you break the press, like our goal. I think one can wonder whether we have the best personnel for it (ie, xhaka) but I’m glad that Arteta is drilling the team this way.
Failing to sell high on one of them when Barça and Real were sniffing around is looking like a mistake.Mane has quietly become about as bereft of form as Firmino
Speaks to the disappointment Thiago has been...Fabinho on for Milner - with Thiago on the bench while chasing a goal - seems not smart
