Bad luck for Brucey's boys, Watkins' header caroms off of Ciaran Clark's leg, then the underside of the bar, and in for a late Villa lead

Good call. Sink it Luka.

Nice: I used to keep Luka on my fantasy team because he got so many penalties. I can't believe that's only his first of the year.

I was pretty sure I saw him standing, but was watching from the kitchen trying to get the dog sorted out. They definitely discussed it and I'm 90% sure it was shown on the NBC broadcast.

If this were anyone other than West Brom, I'd estimate the chance of an equalizer at approximately 100%. Since it's WB, 90% maybe?

this just feels like 22 men running around the pitch aimlessly
is it just me who feels that way?
Did you really expect much more?

I'm a Palace fan, but a match between Hodgson and Allardyce managed teams was not exactly what people have in mind when they discuss "the beautiful game".

I don’t think you understand how difficult it is to judge a knuckleball. Varitek couldn’t catch them, either.

Have a feeling Fulham might get something here. This just smells like one of those times that Pep gets bored and starts experimenting with weird formations and lineups for no reason and it ends badly. He plays all year with a four man backline, a bunch of midfielders, and no strikers, so today he plays five at the back, two strikers, and only one real midfielder. Sure, why not I guess.

at least he isn't doing it in the UCL quarters

2 goals in the first half of an early game? How epic.

This feels like the type of game that Peter Crouch used to randomly pop up in after we all lost track of where he was playing year to year.

Time for my weekly Peacock post...

Southampton/Brighton was pretty standard fare. Grainy, choppy, etc.

Leicester/Sheffield looks incredible. The resolution is tight and the frame rate is high. It’s among the best I’ve seen on TV, period, let alone Peacock.

They’re clearly capable of putting the broadcast out, just insanely inconsistent.

PEA on the bench for the NLD. Arteta said he dropped him for disciplinary reasons.

Lamela starting some shit with Xhaka.

Good plan for the guy who gets half the cards he deserves to start a little something with Mr. Red Card

The Arsenal goal was bound to happen since Tottenham have been completely disinterested in maintaining possession.

That was more or less what I came in here to post. They’ve also just let Arsenal camp out in the box for reasons I can’t quite comprehend.

astride the divide
Brighton needed that. Still annoyed by the Palace result and Lamptey’s injury. This helps.
Much-needed. The Lamptey thing is disheartening, and they've missed March and Webster the last several games too. Webster due back in a couple weeks. On the plus side, Lallana played 90 today and Welbeck almost 80.

At Newcastle next week.

Typical Mourinho BS in a big game, playing far too passively and sitting back way too much. This isn't City, Arsenal are not that good! Take the game to them! Instead, they are defending way too deep and playing way too conservatively in possession. Lots of passes back to Lloris who then boots it long, lots of sideways/backwards passing, no coordinated movement/buildup. And that's with the ball. Without the ball they've been awful too. Doherty is getting overloaded on 2v1s but his 1v1 defending has also been awful. The marking on the goal was poor.

Whats the point of having all these talented players if you're going to approach every big game like Burnley?

Spurs are struggling to build up through the Arsenal press, so I'm sure putting Sissoko in the middle of the field will fix it.

Dele on for Ndombele, because god forbid Spurs have multiple talented midfielders on the pitch at the same time.
