Earlier Argo pointed out that Leicester have spent 53 of the last 57 game days in the top 4.

Liverpool have done a superb job marking Zaha out of this match. I only remember 2 Zaha dribbles all match. That’s remarkable.

Well after a shit performance against Villa for the home supporters, Spurs churned out a very good game today.

I don't remember how bad last year's collapse was apart from the United loss.

4 points in their last 5 games this year. Ouch.
Last season was even worse. They lost 3 of their last 4, and went 3-3-6 in their last 12. Including losses to Norwich and Bournemouth.

In an absolute debacle of a season, I am enjoying Bale cancelling Christmas & New Years way more than I should.

Pirlo has benched Ronaldo for Juventus’ do or die matchday 38 game against Bologna
They're up 4-0, so it seems to have worked. Unfortunately for them, Napoli just took the lead, and Milan is 1 up on Atalanta., so at the moment Juve is still in 5th.

Lille is about 30 minutes from the French title.

Lille gave up a late goal to lead to a couple of nervy minutes, but held on to beat Angers 2-1 and win Ligue 1.

PSG finished a point back, and Monaco held on to the 3rd CL spot because Lyon blew a lead and lost to Nice.

Read this on the Guardian today:

This most unpredictable of seasons has ended with…

  • The four richest clubs taking the top four places!
  • Harry Kane getting the golden boot!
  • A late-season collapse from Leicester!
  • Mourinho sacked by his club after setting the house on fire!
Whatever next?
I understand why everybody was against the ESL, but I can't understand why anybody is okay with the status quo.

In such a lost season, at least we have these delicious Gunner tears.
No kidding.

Ball popped up because it deflected off defender. It, by the definition the EPL uses, did not lead directly to the goal (which basically means Kane didn't score it). It's literally why Kane didn't shoot.

It is a handball if:

"Scores in the opponents’ goal:

directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper; or

immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental.”

It doesn't have to be a goal that Kane scored, it can be that he created a goal scoring opportunity immediately after the handball. You left out the more relevant section of the rules:
It is an offence if a player:
  • after the ball has touched their or a team-mate’s hand/arm, even if accidental, immediately:
    • creates a goal-scoring opportunity
In this case, there are a few dribbles and seconds between the handball and pass to Bale, so it's not immediate, but it's pretty close.

The whole thing should be moot anyway because he basically brings his arm down and dribbles the ball with his hand. I have no idea what was going through his head but if you want to call this an unintentional handball then are basically no intentional handballs other than the rare occasion of a guy blocking one going into the net.

If this occurs in the normal run of play with the ref getting a good look it gets called 99 times out of 100 and nobody even bats an eye.

Well, have to say it's been quite the 38 gameweeks. Being able to watch almost every single match live b'c most matches had their own match window isn't something we'll likely get ever in future seasons. Gameweeks 37 and 38 just felt weird because of that. For better or worse, there was a lot compressed into this past season, and it's not the match schedule: ESL, merry-go-round atop the table before City took it by the scruff of the necks, stemming COVID outbreaks. This season will stick with me.

agree it should have been a handball.

but Vardy should have been given a yellow instead of the “penalty” on their second goal. I don’t understand VAR at all. It was absolutely useless on both plays.

Yeah, I definitely agree about the Vardy call. I didn't see it as it happened but I can't see Sanchez doing anything wrong at all on the replays I've seen, other than having his arm in a position that allowed Vardy to intentionally get himself tangled up and then flop around like a fish.

Yeah it’s hard to feel like Leicester were robbed when really both Vardy penalties were suspect. The second far worse than the first

Congratulations. Always great when a non Barca/Real Madrid team wins La Liga.
Thanks, mate. This year is a year of redemption, and that personal motivation to overcome is something special to watch and celebrate. While there are a handful of stories on the team of players trying to prove someone wrong, the one that stands out is Luis Suarez. When the match concluded, Suarez called his family and broke down in tears, expressing his hurt when Barca showed him the exit and the relief to prove to everyone that he still had it in him.
