This is true, although @RSN Diaspora having a 10-game playoff win streak is legendary, on par with whoever-it-was who had the final streak for the 2004 Red Sox. I think his handle was Cabrera Era, although it's likely changed since then.We need a GT for tonight, only fitting that it’s @Brand Name who starts it.
This will come a lot closer to tip of I make it. Good either way there. Work until 6:30ish today. We need a GT for tonight, only fitting that it’s @Brand Name who starts it.
Could have just made it instead of this one!!!This will come a lot closer to tip of I make it. Good either way there. Work until 6:30ish today.
Hey look at me being young and full of moxie. This is true, although @RSN Diaspora having a 10-game playoff win streak is legendary, on par with whoever-it-was who had the final streak for the 2004 Red Sox. I think his handle was Cabrera Era, although it's likely changed since then.
(@CaptainLaddie also acquits himself very well at the start of that Game 4 thread, while I'm digging through archives)
I was more wrong about last year’s Celtics than any other champion in my 11 seasons covering the NBA. I doubted that Tatum and Brown could finally get them over the hump after so many close calls. I didn’t trust Joe Mazzulla to pull the right strings following such a shaky rookie season as head coach. And even after Boston bulldozed its way through the East, I chalked it up to a run of injured stars and predicted the Celtics would fall to Dallas in the Finals.
Well, I couldn’t have been more off. And now, I’m convinced they’re primed to repeat.
"I proved myself bad at analyzing basketball at every turn, repeatedly expressing extreme overconfidence in opinions that turned out very wrong.
That sounds like he may indeed be lining something up for this year, which would be great for NBA fans!Zach Lowe also predicted a repeat.

HAPPY NBA OPENING NIGHT!!!!! Only prediction I'll share here: Celtics over Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals, Boston breaks the NBA's no-repeat streak. I'll be watching, talking to/meeting with people around the league, traveling a bit to games -- the usual. Enjoy the games!
I'll give him partial credit for trying a mea culpa, most aren't even doing that. Still isn't getting to the root of the problem - KOC (like so many) penalized the Jays for winning at a young age. Tatum couldn't win a title as the best player at age 23 (something that only Tim Duncan has done in the last 40 years), so obviously it's never happening. That was the logic. Everyone knows the best players peak in their late 20s or early 30s, except for Tatum and Brown because of reasons."I proved myself bad at analyzing basketball at every turn, repeatedly expressing extreme overconfidence in opinions that turned out very wrong.
But it's time to turn the page. Here are my new predictions!"
He’s officially covered his ass for another season of all his weird criticisms of the Celtics being dominant yet somehow underwhelming.Zach Lowe also predicted a repeat.

It's such a bizarre standard to which no other team or players are held, including many that haven't come close to winning titles. He’s officially covered his ass for another season of all his weird criticisms of the Celtics being dominant yet somehow underwhelming.
I am a huge Lowe fan, but the disconnect between his Tatum commentary and his praising of Embiid is simply inexplicable. Like, 19 year old Jayson Tatum proved more as an NBA playoff player his rookie year than Embiid has his entire career, yet people somehow are more critical of Tatum's playoffs....I wonder whether he has a non-compete, but it doesn't apply if he doesn't monetize. Will be interesting to follow.

2022 Warriors?(It is intended to specifically disparage Luka Doncic, though. In the past 25 years, has anyone won a title when their clear best player tilts so far in terms of value towards scoring [not even offense, necessarily, though he is a good passer] at the expense of defense?)
That's a good answer, but I think even 2022 Steph was a better defensive player than Luka. People can certainly disagree.2022 Warriors?
Yes, finally. Though even in those he was STILL saying "there will be a playoff where Embiid takes over"The couple podcasts I heard from Lowe before he left ESPN, he was pretty upfront about not trusting Embiid any longer.
And yet at the same time he was saying there was no way Tatum could be considered top 5 because there was a top 5 set in stone (and apparently that top 5 still includes Embiid). Lowe definitely mastered the art of talking out of both sides of his mouth. The couple podcasts I heard from Lowe before he left ESPN, he was pretty upfront about not trusting Embiid any longer.

The new season is officially upon us when we get a tweet from this wonderful gentleman
I didn't think I'd care, but man it brings a smile to my face seeing Ray standing next to Pierce and Garnett again.
I think we all know that I was the real MVP of the playoffs. This is true, although @RSN Diaspora having a 10-game playoff win streak is legendary, on par with whoever-it-was who had the final streak for the 2004 Red Sox. I think his handle was Cabrera Era, although it's likely changed since then.

Every day Pierce looks a little more like if Humpty Hump had lived
Offense feels like a power play right now. I have heard the older heads talk about that from '86. Pretty fun to see it! (I was 4 in '86.)Gotta stay healthy, but as this season goes on they may enter the conversation as the greatest Boston team ever in any sport.
It sort of reads to me like he's getting severance money contingent on not reporting on basketball. That sounds like he may indeed be lining something up for this year, which would be great for NBA fans!
They basically got any look they wanted last night. It was stunning.Offense feels like a power play right now. I have heard the older heads talk about that from '86. Pretty fun to see it! (I was 4 in '86.)
Yup, looks a lot like that.It sort of reads to me like he's getting severance money contingent on not reporting on basketball.
Cousy played with John Havlicek, who played with Cedric Maxwell, who played with Kevin McHale, who played with Rick Fox, who played with Antoine Walker, who played with Paul Pierce, who played with Avery Bradley, who played with Jaylen Brown.
Bob Cousy played against Neal Walk who played with Lonnie Shelton who played against Michael Jordan who played against Vince Carter who played against Jayson TatumNice point from Shaughnessy:
Barkley is the only guy who could get away with saying "Don't make Shaq read on TV".
Good, well-produced video. Who here doesn't love Cs video breakdowns? I wish I knew what all those play terms he was using meant, but I suppose that's on me.IDK where to post this. I hope we're till doing real Celtics tactics.
This is probably overkill, still: The Basketball Action DictionaryGood, well-produced video. Who here doesn't love Cs video breakdowns? I wish I knew what all those play terms he was using meant, but I suppose that's on me.
