If you follow me on and DLew on Twitter, you'll notice occasionally we'll say how much we enjoy the Men in Blazers podcast.

It's not the most hard-hitting soccer analysis, but it's unpretentious, goofy, funny, smart, and generally brightens my Wednesday afternoons.

For example, in a wonderful 5 minute stretch today from 24:30-29:30, they talk about Liverpool's strech, Harry Redknapp's 4 people to have dinner with, relegation battle between QPR and Villa, and War Pigs.  Hercules Gomez was the guest this week.

It's simply wonderful, in spite of it's warts.  So here my friends, we discuss.  I will bump this thread every week so help me God.

This belongs in the media forum you jerk.

This is a top 2 or 3 podcast for me; so often football is taken too seriously, especially by Americans who want to show they know the game. This podcast is everything that is fun about footy. I just wish they would mention Wednesday more often. :(

I laugh out loud at this podcast more than any other i'd bet.

Eat me.  I don't want to lightly criticize Mike "Positive" Davies and have Dave Laurlia reflexively give a full-throated defense of him

I'm 0-for-3 in getting my ravens read on the air. (Unless one showed up yesterday, I haven't made it through the show yet). Agreed, it's good stuff and while I'm not exactly a neophyte to the game I still learn something every week, usually about English culture. Or pies.

The only footy podcasts I listen to regularly is Men in Blazers and The European Football Show. Both are polar opposites of one another, but I enjoy both equally. As a Liverpool and Timbers supporter they dislike the former, but love the latter. It's all in good taste and fun. MiB is a must listen every week for me.

If you don't listen to this week's MiB with special guest Barry Hearn (owner of Leyton Orient), you are missing out.  He's asked about the time a German plane was shot down over his neighborhood of Dagenham during the war, and he says about the pilot, "We lynched him, hung him over a lamppost.  Fucking 1-1 in extra time."

Barry Hearn is the tits.

That was amazing. I was cracking up my entire commute home.

Davies: Are you a religious man?

Hearn: I'm 80% religious. I keep the other 20% just in case the Jews turn out to be right

Roger and Davo will be taking their talents to NBC this Fall.

Another huge coup for NBC Sports against the likes of ESPN and Fox. I also wonder what this will mean for Roger's gig writing for ESPNFC and Grantland.

And the pod, which had HUGE numbers post-WC. I'm happy I get to see more of them on TV, they're probably the best off-field thing going for US EPL coverage right now.

I found out about them right before the World Cup. I love their podcast. Even though I don't follow premier league football (or MLS) I went back to listen to old pods and I still loved it even though I had no idea what they were talking about most of the time.

They are fucking hilarious.

Excellent.  When it originally broke, I thought it would be a Monday night recap of the prior weekend, which it does not appear it will be.  That would have been great, but this should be good.  Explosure!

I'm very happy they are continuing with a weeky pod. Thrilled for them that they get a TV show.

I remember listening to their first Grantland podcast, and they thought they'd have a podcast scheduled every month or so, maybe less. Explosure, indeed.

I can't wait for them to be fired in 5 months after learning about the restraining order Rebecca Loew has against Rog.

Bumping this thread because the TV Show has become must watch for me.  I actually make a point out of DVRing it, which is only notable because it's literally the only thing on my DVR that isn't some horrible fake reality show that my wife has recorded.

I've always dabbled in the podcasts, but to be honest they're a bit long and wandering.  They make me laugh out loud, but it sometimes takes a while to get there.  The TV show is format just works for me and they crack me up.  I wonder if the ratings are good enough to keep them doing it because I'm really enjoying it even at the very late time slot it runs at.

The part they did on Gerrard's half minute was just awesome on TV.

Seriously one of my favorite shows on TV.

It kills me that its always so rushed (30min time slot) and only airs when the EPL is going. They could easily do more shows during the international breaks.

Love these guys.

It's funny, although their act has worn a bit thin for me- an overreliance upon inside jokes and repetitive themes...maybe buying their own (well deserved) hype a bit much for my liking. I drifted awayat the expense of other footy podcasts.
They're certainly not real analysts of the games either, but that's not really what they're trying to do. Good laughs sometimes though.

Dave Fishwick may have equaled Barry Hearn as a guest on the pod. He was hilarious and fascinating.

Also, I appreciate the show but I've gone back to only listening to the podcast weekly. Between the show, their twitter, and then the podcast I would hear the same jokes 3 times each week. Just listening to the podcast is plenty and it's the easiest for me to get through on my commutes. Also, the guests are usually better. On the show it's just someone plugging something and they were about 50/50 on actually being a soccer fan.
