Maybe I because I am ex Military, but it seems to me that the NFL at the team level should have some sort of family support system in place like an Ombudsman where wives/girlfriends/family can go for some help if one of the players is abusive at home.    The NFL, like the military is a violent career and some folks have trouble turning off the switch.
One, in particular, has no problem with the switch.

sorry, i couldn't resist

I have noticed this. Goodell's desire to police the criminality of the players - a centerpiece of his tenure - has more than a whiff of wanting to keep "those people" in line.

No. That's not what I meant. I think Goodell is extremely good about race. I think problems will ensue if the NFL embarks on a zero tolerance for felonies approach, given the racial makeup of the NFL and the percentage of those with more disadvantaged backgrounds who commit a disproportionate number of crimes.

He's not saying 2 seasons for crack and 1 game for molly or weed.  I don't think there will be much sympathy for millionaires who lose hundreds of thousands of dollars because they beat women or children, even if they do come from poor backgrounds.

I'm so confused - is this about Brandon Marshall the former Broncos WR, or Brandon Marshall the current Broncos LB?
Whichever one it isn't about should hire Rusty Hardin to sue her for slander.

I say this half seriously. #litigious #myt1

Considering Brandon Marshall already was suspended for this, can we change the title of the thread Gloria Allred calls a presser to bring up ancient history?

This is not going well. Would've been better if a reporter had happened to track them down and reported their story. The press conference looks too staged like they're trying too hard.

Allred's MO.

Brandon Marshall, national voice of reason. Our country has officially jumped the shark.

What was incoherent? Where he said it's not the job of the NFL or the government to get people to act right, but it starts at home?

The part where he admitted they had a volatile relationship but said she was pushed into this by family members, even saying the NFL has a letter from her admitting that?

I thought Marshall's statement was incoherent and pointless, but different strokes for different folks.
Really? I thought it was very clear and appropriate. Those must be some killer meds he's on these days.

Jason Giambi agrees.
