Some are FDA approved others aren't, very few get any kind of endorsement from them, but none are regulated by the FDA as far as ingredients go; so effectiveness and purity are all subject to variation; safety is up to the manufacturer and they're also not permitted to label as treatment or cure for specific things, i.e. a supplement can't claim to prevent, i dunno, COVID; which he isn't doing.
Thank you. Would every multivitamin that included something like elderberry get this same warning posted on the bottle? It just struck me as a bit odd that the writer of the article seemed so breathless that this product wasn't FDA approved.

Hopefully he taps into the psilocybin microdosing market or opens a ketamine infusion center because reading the rage posts in this thread is depressing.

I'm looking at the optics from Brady's perspective, not from a Patriots perspective as obviously he's not there anymore. His marketing team should have known that rolling this product out now especially how he described it on his IG video would lead people to make conclusions that they were using the COVID to help market the product. Especially in the end of his video when he says it will" provide exactly what you need to stay healthy, strong, and resilient from whatever comes your way." What is forefront in everyone's mind right now as far as the immune system? If you're involved with Alex Guerrero, it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to products like this when Guerrero peddled items like NeuroSafe and Supreme Greens.
I'm aware the angle you're looking at it from. I'm asking if you honestly think anyone give a shit, except the twelve year olds here that are still sour he left? No one cares man. No one cared about the concussion water either. This is a utterly stupid thing to care about.

Which reminds me, did Theo mail his jersey back to him yet?

I'm not sure what you mean by warning (and I didn't read the article, I'm not giving whomever it is a click) but any kind of vitamin or mineral or supplement falls under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994, which basically strips the FDA of any regulation beyond manufacturing standards. But, it also prevents the manufacturer from listing specific cures for diseases, i.e. you can market Milk Thistle for "Liver Health" but you can't use a word like cirrhosis; you can market elderberry as immune support, or even cold or flu, but not specifically, say, strep throat; "adrenal support" is ok, but "fights Cushing's Disease" isn't; marshmallow root for digestive help but not specifically an ulcer or IBS; etc. The only thing resembling a warning you'll see is something with an asterisk leading to a disclosure like "benefits not verified by the FDA" or something similar to that.

Even those endorsed by the FDA aren't approved by them, because they don't have any authority in the realm. They can endorse taking an iron supplement for people with anemia without stamping it as "approved" by them, at least in the same vein as a prescription drug would be approved. Whomever wrote the article is either uneducated in it, misinformed or intentionally stirring the pot.

Is there an ingredients list we know? I'm sure it's not dissimilar from a Nature's Bounty, Vitafusion or other brand you can buy at CVS, you don't even need to go to a GNC. I'd imagine it's some combination of elderberry sambucus, echinacea, vitamin C, a combo of other vitamins, amino acids and a prebiotic of some sort; possibly even some turmeric. And before anyone complains, there's many just as or more expensive on the market.

Point of order: People cared about the concussion water thing here. That's where he crossed the line from "eh, stupid pseudoscience but harmless" into "someone could do real damage to themselves by thinking this is a thing".

On a scale of unfair, deceptive and misleading business practices, that's like a 3/10, nevermind on some bigger scale of whether you're a good human or not. And this stuff is basically at most a 2/10, "yeah probably bullshit but it's not making some dramatic claims, so who cares". And frankly, a lot of the other aspects of the TB12 method may end up having something to them, if and when actual studies are done or we learn more about (say) pliability or over-hydrating yourself or the other parts of his lifestyle. So on your broader point, I think you're right. The "fuck that guy!" reactions are so absurd they're almost a parody. But the concussion water stuff, that's different.

Concussion water I know people here had issue with it, but the argument was that it was a reflection on him and since he’s gone etc etc. It’s not like it took national scrutiny was my only point there. How we felt about it means jack shit end of day.

Paps Pout diving into this thread to defend Brady's honor against the trolls and haterz is more interesting than debating Brady's dumb side business.

I played that role on the Shallow Hal message boards back in Oughy-One. "WHY ARE YOU ALL THOWIN' SHADE ON GOOP!!1!" I'd write.

I don't know if Gwennie read my posts, but I think she knew I was out there telling people to step the fuck off.

(We used to say "throwin' shade" and "step the fuck off" back in the '01. It was an innocent time. Tom Brady was just an acolyte of the gridiron in Foxboro, not presiding over a concussion-water empire in St. Jetersburg).

And, yet, he's right. There are a bunch of Susan Collins' in this thread, acting very "concerned" about Tom Brady's foray into the supplement business. If Tom Brady was still on the Pats, the complaints would decrease by 90%. It's so lame. The dude is selling an immunity booster, like approximately 100 other companies in the world.

He's not selling meth.

We've all known for a long time that Brady is kind of a weird dude who (I think) genuinely believes that drinking water prevents sunburns and vitamins and pliability stop concussions. I mean, it is what it is at this point. It's kind of a bad look during a global pandemic to pimp that snake oil, but I think he actually believes this stuff works. Ever since the Trump hat appeared in his locker, I've pointed out that Brady is a beautiful show pony who I look to for exactly one thing: throwing touchdown passes to people in Patriots jerseys. Not political or medical advice. Beyond that, meh, he is what he is. I'm not going to sharpen the knives over this behavior just because he's wearing a different jersey now. Just shrug and move on.

Seems this should be done post-retirement.

I wonder if this was in discussion pre-Tampa signing.

And they couldn't squeeze a 10th episode out of a still ongoing career?

It sounds like each episode is going to correspond with one of the Super Bowls, hence 9 episodes:

Tom Brady's journey to each of his nine Super Bowls with the New England Patriots will be the subject of an ESPN series released next year.

Entitled "The Man in the Arena: Tom Brady,'' the nine-episode series will include a look from Brady's perspective at the six NFL titles and three Super Bowl defeats he was a part of. It should be a rare opportunity for up-close revelations from the usually private quarterback who left New England this year after 20 seasons and now is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Man I wish he had retired or waited until he retired to put this out. I would be counting down the minutes. Now I'm more "meh". It's gonna be well done, and maybe by 2021 I'll be ready to welcome it with open arms, but right now I'm just not in the mood.

Especially since we don’t even know how the Tompa Bay experience will turn out. He’s basically relegating it to Wizards status even though there is significant potential for interesting storylines (SB run, skills finally eroding, etc.). But if he has already selected the SB theme, then chances are it won’t matter.

The more I think about it the more it seems like Brady wanted the Montana-in-KC, Peyton-in-Denver, MJ-in-Washington type of experience. Like this is a better outcome than just finishing up with the Pats. Which is interesting.

It would be really interesting to see/hear Brady's honest thoughts on the two Giants Super Bowls and the latter Eagles one but I think I need another, oh, 40 or 50 years before I'm ready to hear them.

Agreed. I'd rather watch that than another recap of the 6 wins honestly.

I just want to hear his thoughts on the bomb to Moss. Has to be one of the best throws ever.
70+ yards in the air, and the Giants defender barely tipped it. He mistimes that by a millisecond, and Moss catches it and scores a TD.

By the way, what an unbelievable athlete Moss was. He ran like three straight total fly patterns at full speed, each one a long distance from the LOS. This was at the end of a brutally hard game.

If you could see an honest documentary on any sports topic, what would you want to see? For me, Deflategate is at the top of the list. I'd also like to see one on the true relationship between Brady and Belichick. Also one on the life of Pedro Martinez.

There were 2 guys on him so Moss was going to get tackled at around the 10 with about 9-10 seconds left even if the guy missed the tip. It would have gone to OT (assuming we had a timeout), which would have been nuts.

Yep DFG. 100%. If I could put truth serum in Wells, Goodell, Kensil, Grigson, Ron Anderson, Troy Vincent, etc. Man oh man.

I've rewatched that amazing pass dozens of times, and am in awe of the precision of a 70+ yard throw given the circumstances and wonder how the fuck the Giants allowed Moss to get behind them. If that ball has another foot or so and Moss might grab it in stride. I keep on hoping the next time i watch it, there's a different outcome.

I'd like to hear HTG unfiltered Brady's thoughts of BB's Malcolm decision, (and what the real deal was) not the pablum we're used to getting from Fortress Foxboro.

I wish he didn't do this at all. A 10 part "Last Dance" style doc on the Patriots after Belichick and Brady retire is what I want.

Ep 1: 9/11, Bledsoe injury, Brady, SB36 (Brady backstory)
Ep 2: SB38 & SB39- story of key players from those teams (law, bruschi, etc)
Ep 3 & 4: Mangini, Spygate, Moss, 16-0, SB42 (Belichick back story)
Ep 5 & 6: Brady injury, phase out of first generation players, 2009 bust, SB46, Aaron Hernandez, Rise of Gronk
Ep 7: Deflategate, SB49, Malcom Butler
EP 8: Brady Suspension, Jimmy G, 28 - 3
EP 9: Jimmy G Trade, Butler benching, SB52 loss
Ep 10: SB53 win, Gronk retirement, Kraft arrest, AB, Brady /Belichick rift, Brady free agency.

Yeah, this format would be much more interesting. Of course, we’d never get the Belichick side of things so could only do so much.

THAT is ultimately the book I want to read: Belichick's unvarnished memoirs where he really shares his honest thoughts on everything. That would be an instant best-seller.

Belichick will spill everything after he retires. His legacy is very important and why he keeps doing documentaries. He wants to be in control of his narrative.

Giving the interview subject an iPad to react to, like in the Jordan doc, would be very effective with Belichick.

Would love to see him cackle at "we physical, they finesse"... or Joey Porter's "they won't never get on our level"

What are the top 3-5 questions you'd ask BB if you had him on truth serum?
1. Tell me the real story behind the Butler benching.

2. Tell me the real story behind Spygate.

3. What kinds of conversations did you have with Kraft when the deflategate story came out and he accepted the league’s punishment?

4. Is there any tactical decision you’d have made differently in any of the key playoff losses? If so, what were they?

5. Tell me the real truth about your relationship with Brady.

Love it. On #4 the non-FG vs the Giants comes to mind. But he probably could say something about each playoff loss.

I’m trying to imagine a scenario in which we actually got answers to those questions. Other than BB on his deathbed, nothing comes to mind.
