But how often do you get a chance to punch someone in the Super Bowl?i think he gets a game and deserves it. Opening this up based on the GT.
Mike Evans got a one-game suspension earlier this season under exactly those circumstances. That hit was worse than Gronk’s, but I’m nervous.I do not see any player getting suspended for a non-brawl penalty that did not get them ejected.
+1i think he gets a game and deserves it. Opening this up based on the GT.
Not the same at all. The Mike Evans hit tuns into a brawl and he is throwing punches when the guy is on the ground.Mike Evans got a one-game suspension earlier this season under exactly those circumstances. That hit was worse than Gronk’s, but I’m nervous.
Last week two players got a 2 game suspension reduced to one week.I voted no. Last week 2 players had a fist fight and they got 1 game. This should be nothing.
I would accept a 4 game suspension until the playoffs started too.
This is my guess as well.Suspended for one game reduced to zero games on appeal.
Talib and Crabtree each got 2 games and it was a mutual altercation.I voted no. Last week 2 players had a fist fight and they got 1 game. This should be nothing.

Certainly not helping his case, admitting you acted out of frustration is not a good idea.
Suspended or not, this absolutely needs to be addressed, i'ts been going on for way too long, one season after another. Bad as it was, not all that surprised Gronk finally snapped. Once agian, he was getting mugged before the interceptionAt the very least, a fine/suspension gives the team a chance to formally highlight the gross OPI/DPI inequities in plays involving #87.
Yup. Kinda surprised BB didn’t coach him not to talk about the penalty.Certainly not helping his case, admitting you acted out of frustration is not a good idea.
Best to keep quiet at this point. Let the team deal with the bullshit calls, which were bullshit. Gronk is not doing himself any favors here.
I fully agree with the as well. He's playing with a separate set of rules. If he was 5'8" and 160lbs he'd get the call every time, but then he wouldn't be Gronk, he'd be Reggie Wayne.Suspended or not, this absolutely needs to be addressed, i'ts been going on for way too long, one season after another. Maybe, but the game was already late in the fourth quarter so not sure that matters here one way or another. If it happened in the First q and he was tossed (or not) I can see where that would be relevantAnother thing going against Gronk will be that he wasn't kicked out of the game.
The league in the past has been more lenient on players if they were already kicked out of the game like Green/Ramsey earlier this season.
You don't have a real problem with a guy lying on the ground out of bounds and already touched, then Gronk slams his shoulder into the back of his head? Isn't that the exact type of play the NFL is trying to take out due to concussions? Isn't that a lot worse than the fight last week or Suh stomping a guy in the chest? That's not a suspendible offense. It was a stupid and egregious play and deserved the penalty and subsequent fine that will come from the league. The faux outrage on this play is over the top.
Definitely an awful play by Gronk, but how aren't these refs being held accountable for the awful officiating?Talib and Crabtree each got 2 games and it was a mutual altercation.
Gronk jumps on a prone player laying out of bounds who had already been touched down. Certainly suspension worthy if you take off the Pats colored glasses.
Had a BUF player done that to Gronk or any Pats player we would be screaming suspension.
And the opposite -- If he wasn't held as much as he is, he'd be a 6'7" Jerry Rice who is impossible to tackle.I fully agree with the as well. He's playing with a separate set of rules. If he was 5'8" and 160lbs he'd get the call every time, but then he wouldn't be Gronk, he'd be Reggie Wayne.
Quotes taken out of context. Gronk began his comments with apologizing to the player for the hit. I suggest everyone watch the Gronk interview. He was contrite and came off as honest to me. We have watched him for 8 years and know what type of player he is.
Why do people think it would be for the Pittsburgh game? That is not how suspensions due to on field actions work in the NFL. If Gronk gets a game, he is going to sit the Miami game, which is barely more meaningful than a preseason game at this point when it comes to playoff seeding. One game.
But it will be a BS deal if it is the Pitt. game.
