They don't have dick. The lineup is akin to the Mariners. Strike outs, weak grounders, or pop outs.
The Guardians are 30th out of 30 MLB teams with team strikeouts. The Mariners are 11th. The Guardians scored 8 more runs as a team than SEA this year even with SEA having a lot more BB's (596 to 450).

There are definitely tomato can games with CLE since they are a make-contact offense facing better pitching in the playoffs, but I feel like it's a more willful approach at the plate and not exactly the grip it and rip it of SEA.

But that’s partly due to Peraza
No it's not, he barely played, and actually NY added Bader in the final week or two so they are even better than that on paper (defensively).

But it doesn't matter if your SS messes up a few routine plays each game, NY does not currently have the pitching depth or the offense to overcome that.

Ok, I'm not going to lie; when the Yankees brought Clarke Schmidt in to get the final two outs, I assumed it was over.

Whoever the fuck Clarke Schmidt is.

May the midges descend upon any hapless Yankees reliever tomorrow.
They don't even need midges, the injuries and the shitty bullpen management means there is basically no one behind Cole tomorrow while CLE's best relievers all got today off.

“Pandemonium at Progressive Field!”. That’s a weak call, Bob.
He's beyond terrible; he makes Dave O'Brien sound like Vin Scully.

His yammering about former players who look like the Guardians starter tonight, then doubling down blabbering about the Boone Home Run made my ears bleed.

Clay Holmes says not so. And throws Boone under the bus

Clay Holmes said he was surprised that he was not used tonight. He said his arm is fine. Woke up today anticipating he was going to be on the mound tonight.
Luis Severino on whether he was surprised no Clay Holmes in ninth: "He's our closer. So of course I'm surprised."

Boone seems to have lost the lockerroom

In his slight defense, no one knew Effross was hurt (TJS even) until the day after this, the morning of game 1, that seems to have been the tipping point in terms of their bullpen depth (they are down so many relievers).

Seems there is mutiny in the yankees clubhouse as i cant recall the last time multiple players threw their manager under the bus in a postgame interview
Either way the way they handled it was inexplicable, so if Holmes is out, then you have three guys you want to get the final ten outs and you have the first two out after getting just three outs combined and you are going to ask Wandy to get the last seven? You have to try to get more out of Trivino/Loaisiga there, come on.

But as I said before the series, the current NY decision makers are making a habit of shitty personnel decisions in October (people can't stop talking about the Peraza one because it is just that bad) and here we are again.

I took a friend of mine to my college town today… a couple of tours, including a ghost hunt at my favorite old mansion. We watched a few of the middle innings at a brew pub, but it's a 90-minute drive and I wanted to be home by midnight. My friend is up for watching the game over dinner, but I didn't want to bore her listening to the game on the way home and I didn't get the feeling they were coming back. Did I miss anything interesting?

Seriously though, as soon as I walked in the door, I saw I had a text from my best friend asking me if I'd stayed to watch the whole game, so I knew they won before I even got online to check. The Guardiac Kids indeed.

Boone has to be on borrowed time, right? It's been 13 seasons without a title now, and Girardi was only there for the first couple.
