Union Berlin just lost to Greuther Fürth 1-0. This was Greuther Fürth's first ever Bundesliga home win. They have a -33 GD 15 games into the season. The goal that they got honestly should have been VARed off, due to a foul, but it should have never even come to that. XG was something line 0.9 for GF, 1.2 for Union Berlin. That kind of result is not how you make your way into European competitions. Hopefully this will light a fire under them ahead of a very important match with 5th place Freiburg (Union is in 6th) on Wednesday. Then another game they really need to win against Bochum before the winter break.

And with that, Jordan Ayew shoots directly into Pickford's chest. Some things don't change. My blood pressure right now is through the roof.

Any chance Palace can keep Gallagher?
I suppose it's possible, but it's going to cost a lot of money. The better he does, the less likely Chelsea will be to let him go. I think that everyone in South London would like him to stay, but the other thing is that Gallagher grew up a Chelsea fan and part of their academy. All that conspires to make me think that the chances are much smaller than I'd like them to be.

It’s Chelski, so anything is possible. But Gallagher certainly has the look of a Tuechel midfielder. And both Jorginho and Kante’s contracts expire in 2023, Kovacic in 2024. A smart club would bring Gallagher home, play him in rotation next season, and see if he can replace on of your engine room guys full time.

if they did put Gallagher up for sale, they’d be a few top 6 sides interested and would likely blow away what Palace could offer. Gallagher would have to really want to stay.

I've been wondering if the emergence of Gallagher might make Ruben Loftus-Cheek available to Palace. He had a very good season when he was loaned there, and he seemed to enjoy his time in South London too. I think it would make a lot of sense for both sides.
