Oh good. Anthony Taylor has the Man United - Liverpool match. At least it will be a short commute for him from his home in Manchester.

Can someone explain why Emi Martinez is getting booed every time he touches the ball? I assumed he'd left on good terms - decade-long servant to the club who stepped up when called upon, won an FA Cup, then was cast aside for an inferior goalkeeper and got the club back good money for what would have been a backup keeper.

That's a real rough VAR review. Impossible from any angle to tell whether or not he got the ball (or didn't get the ball). Nothing 'clear and obvious' about the play, save for Lacazette's flop.

edit: And keeper deserved a better fate. Great save on the initial PK, but no chance on the rebound.

Why didn't the half end on the save of the penalty kick as in a penalty shootout? The extra time was extended beyond 2 minutes to allow for the VAR review.

Best I can tell is some people are pissed he wouldn't stay and fight for the #1 shirt. To which I would say he had already won the shirt, why should he stay if you're even considering taking it from him?

Somebody needs to post that Simpsons "stop, he's already dead" clip.

5-0 at 65' and some Norwich dude just got sent off.

O/U at 7.5 goals for Chelsea?

Now even Chelsea players are slapping Krul on the back, saying nice save.

Krul saves a pen, Norwich celebrate the only good thing to happen all day, gets waved off because Krul came off his line early, Mount retakes, Krul gets some of it, but *not quite enough* to keep it out.

6-0

this is grotesque.

This likely explains how little research I’m doing but why the hell is Zaha on the bench with my epl survivor selection on the line?

He’s been ill I think (he missed the last game)
Yes, he'll almost certainly be coming on for at least part of the second half, whereas he wasn't even on the team sheet on Monday. They've been explicit that while his sickness was something he picked up on international duty, it is not Covid.

Whether all the new attacking options that they have mean that having Zaha is no longer THE critical component for a Palace result as in years past, I'll leave to you to decide.

Newcastle hasn't looked particularly good to me, though neither has it looked impossible for them to nick a goal and come away with the reverse lock result.

Palace playing very slick football right now, and with all the wing play very Palace football as well.

Bielsa started Dan James at center forward for some bizarre reason (well, I’m sure he has a 90 minute explanation for it…), but Leeds changed it up at the half. This has become a very entertaining match as Wolves try to hold this 1-0 lead.

Well, if you want misery you can come over to Goodison

2-1 lead over Watford, but they concede at 78’, 80’ and 86’.

hat trick for Joshua King, who Everton picked up last zJanuary but never got a chance under Carlo. Meanwhile we’re trotting out Salomon Rondon who runs like he’s got a safe on his back.

This teenager Joe Gelhart has been so impressive for Leeds. He just drew the penalty at 91’ to set up a shot to tie this.

I love that they don't even get to the 5 minutes in this game after how deep beyond they went for Arsenal.

Sore subject for me. Wigan we’re forced to sell him for pennies to get out of the financial mess created by the previous owners
