As poorly as they are playing I have confidence that United will be able to bounce right back up from the Championship after a single season down + parachute payments

Benrahma has that outside CB on toast West ham needs to just feed him mercilessly.

This is such an old school match. Every pass is long and the pitch is stretched.

Think that’s a good call it probably had only a little to do with the goal but you just can’t have Antonio playing like an offensive lineman with a pancake bonus in his paycheck

Also, Michael Phelps looks to be the assistant referee on the far side. He’s lost some muscle in retirement.

How can your #1 penalty taker be that fucking bad? That was a horrific take.
Rice has never been the penalty taker before (that's only his 3rd try ever), used to be Noble then last Lanzini if he's on then Antonio got and missed 1 last year.
Not sure why Rice took that over Antonio or one of the wingers.

Tottenham had success against Liverpool and City last year, but Chelsea really had their number. Feels like a huge chance to show that this season is different; a massive game for Spurs early in the season.

Same lineup as last week, but it's still very different from when they last played Chelsea, even though no new transfers in yet.

The timing seems right too, which it never was last year. I am ready to be hurt based on the sheer weight of history though.

and there I was smug about how punchless the frontline was, then a goddamn CB hits a volley that sweet.

Chelsea looking very fluid in possession. Conte needs to scheme different pressure at the drink break.

If you told me that an Italian that recently managed Juventus was in charge of Spurs, I’d have guessed Allegri. This does not look like a Conte side.

Spurs haven't been able to connect on the key pass that relives pressure and launches their dangerous counter attacks. Chelsea's midfield has been all over it and pressured Spurs into turnovers.

Can only echo what other have said Chelsea have really dominated this, which surprises me. There really only looks like one winner right now

I’m not sure about the Hojberg/Bentancur central midfield. They just can’t gain and keep control of the ball.

A master class in the first half by Chelsea in squeezing out the life an opponent. Spurs couldn't string together successive passes to maintain possession and create changes down the field, while Chelsea handled Spurs press perfectly and found plenty of action down both sides of the field.

Didn’t need the new guys against Southampton, but Spurs need them today.

Bissouma for one of the midfielders, Richarlison into the front three. I’d prefer Hoj and Son off, but I suspect it will be Bentancur and Deki.

Chelsea’s lack of punch is the silver lining. The only hope for Spurs is that they can’t keep the press up in the heat.

Haha yes. Kane, Son, Kulu and Richarlison all at once. Bring on Perisic too.

Betancur 100% should have been called for the foul. Chelsea did get the ball back and lose it in their own half.
