Hey @rajendra82 , they still need to lose TWO more.

TWO.

Not one.

If they lose TWO more, then, and ONLY then, will it be YED. If they don't in this series, they will need to lose FOUR in the next series for there to be a YED.

Just want to make sure you are informed before you jinx another team.

Pressly’s fastball was down two ticks off his regular season average. Hoping it was just tonight because it was fine last night.

Good to see the Astros take both games at home; a split would have been concerning heading to the Bronx. Nice start, but there’s still plenty of work to do. Hope Altuve gets his head out of his ass.

Don’t let up, Astors. I still remember how the Dodgers went up 2-0 in the ‘78 World Series and (even more annoyingly) the Braves went up 2-0 on the road in the ‘96 WS and both times the MFYs came roaring back to take the next four straight. Don’t let that happen again, Houston. Finish the job.

Are they? Were they in 1996 when they lost the first 2 at home as mentioned above?
In 1996, the Braves won the first two games in Yankee Stadium 12-1 and 4-0. The Braves then lost the next 4. In the last 2, Andy Pettitte bested John Smoltz, and Jimmy Key beat Greg Maddux. Talk about a gut punch series loss.

I'll consider them dead and buried when Houston gets the 27th out of their fourth win in the series. Anything short of that is not adequate. And then I'll root like all get out for the NL team to win the whole thing.

Actually, I'll be doing that either way.

Same here. The greatest nightmare scenario is for Houston to go up 3-0, and then... I won't even type it.

They had 8 righties in the lineup yesterday. If they couldn't pull the ball and take advantage of the jet stream out to left, that's on them.
I just love the idea that they've become so whiny

As terrible a look as it is to complain about the weather, that hit is a HR 88% of the time.

It doesn't make the warning track in Fenway.

Also, I love how they were unlucky with the roof being open, but they definitely were not lucky to score 2 runs on 4 ground balls: seeing eye single to left, comebacker that the pitcher dropped then threw into right field, ground out to first, and an infield single. That's not lucky at all.

I was following last night’s game on Gameday, and somehow they failed to communicate the fact that Houston opened the roof at the top of the inning, closed it for the bottom of the inning, reopened it at the top of the next inning, then closed it again, etc. Can’t blame Boone for whining!

It doesn't make the warning track because the wind knocked it down. In 2022 there were 36 balls in play with the same exit velo and launch angle. 34 of them were something other than an out. 30 of them were home runs.

Still incredibly stupid to blame the playing conditions.

They play in a park that has the right field fence at little league depth so that every other park seems huge.

??? They haven’t won shit with him there, keep him there!
Boone is running out Carpenter in every huge situation in the playoffs trying to catch lightning in a bottle and continues to get rewarded with strikeout after strikeout.

Never quite understand why people tape themselves watching a game alone.. and then proceed to post it the internet .. even after your team loses?
