Anyone watch the first episode? I thought it was pretty funny and much less boring than the past few seasons so far. Dan Campbell and Deuce Staley are entertaining guys.

Last one I watched was the Browns in Hue Jackson’s first year and my takeaway was, “Holy crap this guy is clueless and has zero leadership skills. Every positional coach has their own agenda. This can’t end well.”

My takeaway from the Lions after one episode is that they all seem together as one and practicing with a purpose. Campbell is clearly in charge and has a strong right hand man in Staley. I like what I saw from this team. Can’t wait for the rest of it.

Loved the first episode. The Billie Jean clip was as great of a tv moment as you can get and it was only made better by the context of how bought in the team seems to be. Loved Jamaal Williams as well. Most interesting and likeable team the show has had in a while - hard to watch how Dan Campbell runs the show and not want him to succeed.

I'm on board as well... there is a sense the team is on the come-up.

Of course, we haven't seen much from Jared Goff yet...

Also I understand Jamal Williams is a likable guy and all, but he came off trying just a little too hard.

i hope denver does this in 23 or 24
Unless they changed the rules, I thought it had to be a team that hasn't made the playoffs the past 2 seasons? Can't be hoping for that....

I think Campbell is very likable as well, the players seem to respond to him.

Jury is still out if he's a good head coach or just a good guy to have on the coaching staff.... time will tell.

Nothing stopping a team from volunteering.

Those rules are simply about who can be Voluntold to do Hard Knocks

Here
Agree with everyone that this is a super likable team. They have officially replaced the Browns for me as the sad sack team to root for.

3 episodes in and this thread doesn’t have much traction. Honestly, I’m loving it and think it might be up there with the best Hard Knocks seasons. The coaching staff clearly loves and respects each other and the players seem fully invested. I don’t think the Lions are a good team, but they should be fun to watch over the next 2-3 years.

This season is phenomenal. But it's not like the Game of Thrones or Better Call Saul thread. After the episode ends, there isn't that much to discuss.
