I bought a $5 ticket to see a Red Sox pitcher give up zero hits in a game, in October...

It was October 1, 2006. The pitcher was Devern Hansack, and the game was rain-shortened to 5 innings (after a several hour delay getting started).

The Orioles looked so much like a last place team happy to be playing the last game of the season and just looked in a hurry to get out of there. I think the Umpires felt the same.

When they called the game, the Red Sox were pissed...especially Jason Varitek.
