Help me choose a new Pats jersey?

One of my favorite things to do at Pats games is looking for the fans wearing the most obscure jerseys. Katzenmoyer gets a lot of run, there are many others as well, but a Stidham would be up there, not sure I've ever seen one. I've only bought a couple of jerseys over the years but I always err on the side of established guys, or even retired guys. In addition to the obligatory Brady I have Bruschi, Rodney and Gronk. If I were buying one today I'd probably go with Hightower.
My brother (Nink) and I (Blount) would compete for the fewest sightings of our jersey. 3 times the only other Blount we saw was on the field.

Im in the same boat for new jersey. Im thinking Judon, hoping he is the monster I think her will be.

One question would be who is the all time worst Pats jersey.
I'll throw a few names out there.

For being douches: Adalius Thomas, Dave Meggett, Zeke Mowatt
Embarrassed to be associated with them: Chad Ochocinco, Chris Canty, Tony Eason
Flat out drafted the wrong guy: Dominic Easley, Ras-I Dowling, Chad Jackson
Top picks we never got the value we should have from: Pat Harlow, Irving Fryar, Kenneth Sims
Injury disappointments: Malcolm Mitchell, Bryan Stork, Hart Lee Dykes
Freak athletes whose game never translated: Aaron Dobson, Vincent Valentine, Mike Ruth

OMG a Sisson jersey would be AMAZING. I was at this game - https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199311280nwe.htm - and I thought he had missed four FG, not two... It was my first Pats game in person and the weather was INSANE. Like, it was referred to as the Hurricane Game (at least in our family.) Bledsoe drove them down the field with two minutes left, hit Michael Timpson (I think) on the Jets seven, he promptly fumbled, and the game was over. Sisson in my memory missed four FG, two of which never even entered the same plane of reality that contained the goal posts.

Edit: found the second half - View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl839FWjL7s
Man, Ben Coates was so good.

I have only ever had one Pats jersey - #52 Teddy Johnson from the Bledsoe era - but it would be sick to roll in with a Sisson jersey.

My name is Ryan. I have a Logan Ryan jersey. It’s the only one that I own.

I know Ochocinco never panned out, but he wasn't really expected to do much. Embarrassment seems harsh.

Eason is almost certainly the funniest. I would die laughing. Testaverde would be up there.

Meggett would be rough. Antonio Brown.

I have a #32 “Craig James” era jersey/T-shirt from when I was a kid. No name on it - thankfully.

I hadn’t worn it for probably 15 years but broke it out for the first Rams Super Bowl. It’s a medium and I still fit into it — well, I did pre-Covid.

I am not wearing it to a dentist appointment or to dinner ...
I'm all "wear jerseys when you want" team... and I get maybe dinner with folks in public, but is a dentist appointment something I should be dressing better for?

#73 Hannah has served me well through the years. I'm in Alabama so the Patriot hatred is muted.
I have a #83 Branch jersey with silver trim, but I rarely wear jerseys and I've got the Hannah schtick down pat.
I would think that once the numbers all change next year that the new uniforms will supersede anything you purchase now.
Caveat emptor.

I saw a Marion Butts jersey in 2019, which was impressive, but the all time obscurest I've ever come across was Dietrich Jells in 2001. I would have through it was actually Dietrich Jells wearing his uniform, but the guy was white.

For reference, Dietrich Jells had 2 catches for 14 yards across the 96-97 seasons.
I always assume that when you see an obscure name it is because the wearer of said shirt shares that same last name.

Isn't the easy answer to this Hernandez?

The only Pats jersey I ever owned was a 32 Antowain Smith jersey, but I didn't buy it. I was lighting fashion shows for IMG at the time that they were participating in kickoff week in Times Square. As such they had a huge pile of shirts that we could dig thru to take. Smith was the only Patriot in the pile.

Living in LA in the early-ish 2000s, I went to Sonny McLean's fairly often, where they always had various donated items up for halftime raffle prizes. On one of the days I went the grand prize was a red John Hannah jersey. I was shocked when they called off my ticket number. The game ended with a guy offering me $200 for it, which I politely declined, possibly stupidly, and that TB12 bomb to Troy Brown in OT to beat the dolphins on their stupid half-baseball diamond field. Gooooooood day.

I've only bought three jerseys my entire life but I still have all three. I'm still pretty happy with the choices:

Kevin Faulk
Ben Coates
Andy Moog

Funny (maybe) story about the Moog Jersey:
When I was a teenager I bought it in the Boston Garden pro shop before a game. It wasn't cheap and I was poor so it was a big deal. I dripped mustard from a Boston Garden hot dog on to the white part of the front logo that first game. I was pretty upset about it when it happened but the stain is still there and I feel like it adds character to a classic jersey.

Yes. But I thought it would be interesting to see what other jerseys might not be well received. Really didn't come across too many.

Still can't understand how Mike Ruth did not dominate. 4.8 forty, 580 bench, 32-inch vert at 6'2", 260 lbs. I remember a preseason game his rookie year where he had 3-4 sacks. Guess he was too small for a noseguard, even in 1986. Or maybe he just didn't like football that much.

Note: My first and only jersey: Ted Johnson.

I've owned 7 Pats jerseys in my life (I am currently 39):
1) Terry Glenn (away) - think I got this for Christmas in 1996. I loved Terry Glenn. I loved him at OSU, I was psyched when the Pats drafted him, was psyched for his future after that rookie year. Unfortunately injuries etc. derailed him but man was he fun to watch.
2) Lawyer (home) - got this one during the magical 2001 season. Loved Lawyer, how hard he played, how hard he hit.
3) Seymour (home) - got this one during the 2003 season after Lawyer had been cut. This one lasted a good long while. Wore it to XXXVIII in Houston.
4) Maroney (away) - this one was actually purchased by my dad during the 2007 playoffs, I think to wear to a Super Bowl party. He never went to Super Bowl parties when the Pats were playing in one. Neither did I. We both went to Super Bowl parties that day. Big mistake. He was obviously disgusted by the Scottish Game, I think he wore the jersey that one time ever then gave it to me. This didn't last long since Maroney was gone after a couple years.
5) Hernandez (away) - yep, I had a Hernandez jersey. Bought it the summer after his rookie year, ahead of the 2011 Super Bowl season. I was pretty high on his future. This one obviously didn't last long either.
6) Chandler Jones (throwback) - solid choice of jersey. Think I bought it after his rookie year. Then of course they traded him after 2015.
7) Brady (color rush) - I never owned any Tom Brady merchandise until sometime after 2014. I personally always found it to be cliche, obvious, whatever. But after the DFG nonsense I wanted to support him, so at first I had a Brady t shirt, then when they debuted the color rush jerseys in 2016 I got one not long thereafter.

I no longer have any of these jerseys - once the players left the team, I got rid of the jerseys. I'm definitely a laundry rooter in that sense. Of all those jerseys, the only one I really wish I had kept (kind of) was the Lawyer one. Not sure if I'll ever buy another, we'll see what happens this year with some of the younger guys. I could see myself going the retired route, with someone like an Edelman, Coates, Tedy or Rodney. Wish they also made those in white (I think you can get an Edelman in white).

Anyway, this has been a fun trip down memory lane.

Wait, Kevin Faulk or Keith Foulke?
Kevin Faulk. Thanks for pointing it out, I just went back and fixed it.

The pathetic part of that mistake is I google it to make sure I got the right spelling of the last name and then wrote the wrong first name in my post.

My rule of thumb is that I won't wear a jersey of anyone younger than me. I have Pedro, Neely and Law. I don't wear them very often.

Anybody else get a jersey because it was their high school number? I was #83 a long time ago and the only Pat's jersey I have is a #83 blue Wes Welker. If a wide receiver/tight end makes enough of an impact for the Pat's to warrant them selling his jersey I'd probably hint to my wife to put the white road one on her Christmas shopping list for me.

A red Tippett jersey would be awesome.
I have one of these. I also have a custom-made Eugene Wilson jersey. He did not turn around to wave to me at one game in Denver despite my repeated attempts to tell him that I was the only person in the stadium with his jersey.

Unrelated, but I don't wear jerseys anymore.
