Hey Everyone!

My name is Brady. I am new here and to message boards in general. So I do not know if this is a thing people do. I guess I will tell a little bit about myself. I am from a small town in South Texas. I have cheered on the Sox since I was little kid starting because they had a B on their hat. I was probably 5 years old. It grew into a love affair. I have been to about only five or six games total that is including two in Fenway. I am going to a small college in Kentucky online called Boyce College. I am majoring in Biblical and Theological Studies. To be honest I do not know what I want to do with my life though. I am considering teaching either English or Philosophy. I hope to get know you guys as well as one can over the computer.

Go Sox,

Brady G

Hey snowmanny! Thanks! I thought I was going to be a pastor to be honest. The more I have learned about the job the less I want it. If anything this degree was helpful to understand how to better think about Christianity and every other worldview point as a whole.

Welcome Brady,
Message boarding culture varies greatly from site to site and SOSH is no different. Suggest to read topics carefully and completely before adding a comment or question here, especially when the topic is baseball related.
One other suggestion is not to disclose your full name on the internet. If I were you I would edit your post to remove it.

Best,
Jesse (Cardiacs)

Hi Bosox_in_TX!

I'm a Red Sox fan from Oklahoma, so we're kind-of, sort-of neighbors. I teach at OU in the Department of Political Science, and am affiliated with the religious studies department here. Our religious studies students go on to pursue a wide range of careers! Best of luck, and welcome.

Hey AMS25! That is awesome! I was raised to hate Oklahoma then I spent some time in Tulsa and I no longer hate Oklahoma. How is the religious department there? Thank you for wishes and your kind greeting!

The Religious Studies Department is relatively new and has six permanent faculty members, with sixteen core affiliates. The department specializes in the Abrahamic traditions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam), but recently hired a specialist in Buddhism. Yes, I guess I'm supposed to hate the University of Texas, but I grew up in Connecticut, so I really just hate the Yankees.....

Hi Brady,
Love the enthusiasm, and the naivete! And that not one poster has been anything but considerate to your post.
I would go out on a limb here and gauge that faith in God is not likely a majority opinion around here, but all are welcome. Faith in the Red Sox however.....
I count myself among the atheist persuasion, but studied philosophy in college, and particularly enjoyed discussing religion. The metaphors at play gave otherwise dry material so much life. I always found it compelling that one could ponder the meaning of life and foundations of reason either with faith in God, or without. So, I wish you luck in your journey, and trust you will find your way.
Enjoy the site. There are lots of intelligent posters here, and plenty of snark to boot.
Go Sox!

@ AMS25 Cool man! I think is important to learn all perspectives. It helps you really form what you believe.

@Stanley Thank you for the kind greeting! I love that you studied philosophy. I find nothing more important than to ponder the big questions of life. I always tell people I respect an atheist who has thought about hard to come to that conclusion than a Christian who just latched on to that because that's what they were told to. Go Sox to you as well!

@glasspusher Thank you kindly my friend. Baseball for sure helps me love God more so I cannot disagree with your statement there lol.
