Ward-Prowse smashes home a brilliant shot on the half-volley following a corner. No chance for Lloris.

Is there any particular reason Southampton fans are booing PEH so loud? If they booed every Southampton player who signed with another EPL team, they'd be booing half the league.

Wow. I genuinely feel bad for Southampton, who have played a very good half of soccer.

I hate that as a red card…I get it, but it was a challenge in the box he missed on. Wasn’t dangerous. Yellow and a pen is punishment enough. Now the game is basically over.

It was just a yellow, he already had a yellow.

Would have been ridiculous as a straight red for sure.

At their pace I don’t know if Soton will manage to keep 10 on the field. They’re looking chunky in the challenge.

Harry Winks has played really well but nothing on the stat sheet to show for it. First he plays in Son, who gets cut down for the penalty. Then a beautiful ball over the top that ends up getting waved off because Kane's arm was offsides.

I thought the finger / toe / loose hair offsides calls were supposed to be a thing of the past?

I’m so done with the farce that VAR has become. There is no way they are doing this in good faith anymore.

If you look at the position of their feet, Kane is onside, but I believe that by extending his arm, he ends up offside.

It's a dumb ruling because what it really does is reward the defender for being flat-footed (thus keeping his arms at his side) and penalize the offensive player for running and being active.

IMO if the thickness of lines isn't making that type of play level at worst, they need to be made thicker

I'm generally pro-VAR, and Spurs have benefitted from these reviews before, but these VAR offside reviews are a farce because of the faux-precision: there's no way the technology is precise or accurate enough to determine if a player is millimeters offside. Did they take the screenshot of the exact frame where Winks plays the ball (it sort of looks like it's off his foot in the picture)? Also the Southampton defender appears to be standing ON the blue line that's supposed to indicate the edge of his position.

I thought the arm couldn’t be offsides:
The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered. For the purposes of determining offside, the upper boundary of the arm is in line with the bottom of the armpit.

IDK what you could do about plays like that, but I hate seeing things like KWP getting his brains scrambled.

I'm loath to criticize Conte too much because he's done a great job so far, but not sure Spurs needed to keep 3 CBs on the field the whole second half against 10 men. That's how you end up with Davinson Sanchez trying to make plays with the ball at his feet around the box.

Not coming away with three points sucks. Spurs were too sloppy in the final third and their first-touch let them down on a number of occasions.

The narrative becomes “good teams find ways to win even when not playing well” if they didn’t get screwed by VAR, but also they should not have played so poorly.

The end also turned a bit into the classic “mediocre goalkeeper makes save after save after save” story, but none of them were to difficult really.

Yeah, they got 14 shots on target, but so many of them were right down the barrel. I felt like 20 minutes of the second half were spent by Fraser Forster cradling the ball in his hands.

The own goal not being given seems more egregious than the garbage offsides to me. Both together just make this a total ref job in my mind.

Great spell from the Foxes. They look a damn sight better than they did against City even though they’ve barely caught their breath.

Aye, I'm not shocked.

Liverpool have been so sloppy in the final third. To be fair Leicester have defended resolutely without giving up too many chances (penalty excepted)...I feel this is a big half hour for Liverpool's title ambitions.

Very important to take your shin guards off and stop and applaud the fans while going off the pitch injured.

If he’s tweaked that thing at all and tries a run he’s going to be out for a helluva lot longer than the last 15 minutes.

5 subs, please?
