It cracks me up how Beacher report and ESPN try to have a Laker story everyday despite the playoffs going on.

(Great player) a fit for Lakers?
(Any team) possible landing spot for Westbrook?
(Any famous coach) potential Laker coach?
(Lebron or Ad) say (lame excuse)

Ha, I kind of enjoy a daily dose of Laker humiliation, put some milk on it and have it for breakfast, please

no skunking away to the off-season

Bron, Palinka, Jeannie, Klutch, AD, Vogel, and Russ are all in one big Mexican standoff this offseason with the occasional Magic or Kareem molotov cocktail tossed in.

Some more water-carrying for Jeannie Buss, who now has some combination of Pelinka, Kurt and Linda Rambis, Magic Johnson, Phil Jackson and whatever Klutch is doing all working diligently on solving the Lakers issues, which somehow doesn't involve firing anyone (beyond Vogel) or trading anyone away:

Plaschke is usually a hard-hitting columnist. That's a serious puff piece by anyone's standards, but especially his.

Plaschke does an okay job pointing out the flaws in Rambis/Magic/Pelinka, which is fine because it highlights the absurdity of relying on them to fix this situation with the Lakers. Where he loses me is the weird portrayal of Buss as this mother-figure, constantly dotting over the Laker fanbase like they are her children.

Bill is not immune to the access journalism curse. The fact that there's a good amount stuff in his piece that isn't fluff is a testament to him.

Reading some NBA stuff Jennie is often described as having personal charisma that is especially effective in a male-dominated field that at times makes people see her as different than just another owner when she really isn't.
