We did this last year, but I don't see a poll for it this year. Remember they're 2-2 as of this opening post and it's only a 72 game season. My vote is for a somewhat disappointing 41-45, then a second round playoff exit. I think we're too low on scoring in a conference with several high powered offenses.

I voted 41-45 win window also... Vegas has us at 45.5 and lumped in with a bunch of teams in the 2-6 seed range. Indy seems a bit low at 39.5 and a 7 seed to me.

Honestly I see a lot of variance with this team still. So much depends on Kemba coming back anything close to full strength and then the ability to find some half decent bench players (Pritchard might be a good start, hopefully we can trade for a wing or one develops). Theis and TT is probably enough at the center spot to still be good, though hopefully they rarely play together like they are now.

You also still have some uncertainty with Tatum and Jaylen and if they can make another leap. A team with the 2 best players at age 22 and 24 is tougher to pin down than a team whose best players are 28 years old.

I’m going with 41-45. I just don’t think we’ll be disappointed by the end of the regular season.

I think they end the season at 40-32 and I agree with LTP that they are bounced from the playoffs in the 2nd round. I hope I am underselling the team and will be happy if that is the case.

I'm going with 43-29. Slightly less than a typical Brad Stevens winning percentage thanks to the reduced impact on regular season win total and anticipated extended run for young players.

I went 36-40. I think they’re short probably two pieces and inevitably injuries will arise and they have nowhere near the depth needed to win at a high rate if any additional starter goes down

40-32 seems like a decent shout considering we have no idea when Kemba Walker is coming back and in what capacity he'll be when it happens.

My pick is 42-30 for the reasons mentioned above re: Kemba and the utes getting plenty of run. I believe there will be a smaller spread in wins across the league than most seasons, due to the "load management" days with a condensed schedule as well as some downtrodden teams, like the Hawks, Suns and Hornets for example, making moves. Hell, the Cavs already have 3 wins and the Magic have 4 wins. It's really only the Bulls and Pistons who are who we thought they were, they stunk and will continue to stink.

I picked 46-50 but forgot there were less games.

I think they're a bit better than a .500 team but not by much unless the rookies and sophomores are real players. I have basically no hope that Kemba is ever a meaningful player on this team.

I think they will land somewhere between 43-29 and 46-26 so the optimist in me selected 46-50.

It's going to be a weird year, but I picked 46-50 because I think the Cs have a good core and will stay focused on winning, while other teams maybe drift a bit.

Nets just blew us out by 30 and lost two straight to the Hornets and Grizz. I don't think that sort of thing happens to the Cs. And if Kemba comes back healthy, I think they'll be a top four team in the East.

40-45 wins. Any speculation abut the playoffs is useless, though. We dont know what Kemba will look like when (if?) he comes back. We don't know what they can do with the TPE.

where I was last at
I think we see a .500-ish team the first 20-30 or so games, as CBS plays the bench a lot, and guys figure out roles, and then a ..600+ team for the last 40 or so games, as Kemba returns and the puppies are house-trained.

40-42 wins

I think they could be pretty good

Kemba is by far the biggest concern. BUT think a lot of teams will get dinged up with the compressed schedule. ECF again.

Big picture: 2-3 Championship banners over the next 5-6 seasons

43-29 which I think will have them in contention for the second seed, but will ultimately be anywhere from 3-6 in a very crowded and competitive playoff race. I can see the Bucks easily taking the top seed, and then the Celtics, Nets, Sixers, Pacers, Heat and Raptors all within 4 or 5 games of each other at the end of the year.

I will also caveat the above win totals by noting that this assumes a somewhat balanced overall schedule. If the second half schedule ends up being heavy on division games to reduce travel, the win totals for the Atlantic teams may be lower as there may be too many games between these teams where they split a bunch of games and each end up around 40 wins.

45-27 is the record that keeps bouncing around my head too.

And I think we win like 15 of our last 20

Of the 9 or 10 votes for 36-40 wins, I wonder how many would have taken the over at 36.

If forced to give a number I probably would have been around 38 or 39 but I may never predict anything as accurately as my statement above ever again
