Just curious on the pulse of SoSH. Personally I caught a few innings on Friday night, but I haven't watched a single pitch since.

I voted just less than half, but that was more a function of not being home for some of it and MLB.TV blacking me out from the O's games because of my viewing area.

I voted zero. I almost never watch games but I have followed along on the radio a couple of times. It’s been a bit depressing. :(

I try to watch every time, but ever since game two it's been painful. When that happens, I tune in to CNN to be scared for a while and check back to see if the Sox have awakened. Last night I tuned back in to find the Sox had loaded the bases. They did get one run out of it, but the entire situation was squanderific and I tuned away again.

I'm embarrassed by how little I've watched -- saw a healthy chunk of opening day, but that's about it. Too busy at work and planning a move that is stretching into the evening, though that's no excuse.

I am really glad to have signed onto a couple of low-stakes fantasy leagues this year to encourage me to try to stay engaged, at least reading box scores.

I've had it on for pretty much every inning. I'm not glued to every pitch, but it's there like an old friend, which is how I generally watch. I truly couldn't care less how many games they lose. Obviously, I root for them to win, but I'm just taking enjoyment out of whatever number of games happen. I honestly can't fathom getting depressed by the state of the team right now.

I've caught at least some of every game, but this season, I admit that I'm not hanging around for the last few innings when they are down by a lot (or even a medium amount). If they mount a few comebacks or start playing a few games that are tight in the later innings, I could change, but this year, they have to lure me back in.

Zero. I would like to watch, in theory, but I've fallen out of the habit. By the time I get the kids down it's 9:15 or so, I used the have the game on in the background as I cleaned up after dinner or did baths or whatever, and then as I did work or whatever else needed doing after kids bedtime. Now I'm not putting on anything, and after bedtime or when I'm washing up the kitchen I'm watching highlights or MLS. In another week that'll probably be the NBA.

I watched Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday more or less in their entirety. Enjoyed the Monday game thread. Not so much last night's.

It's great background noise and I'm excited for sports, but the on-field product has been so awful I will probably find other background noise as the summer wears on. It's too bad because I've found the pace of play to be much more tolerable so far this season which was my main reason for souring on baseball the past few years. Unfortunately the quality of play has been less than tolerable.

I watched the Monday game on ESPN. Between work and better things to do, I haven't seen much else

I think the questions is "Are you watching less than before?"

I'd also love to cross-reference the results here with how much that poster posts on the main board.

We go to bed really early, so the change in start times has definitely taken 30 minutes off of my nightly viewing. And I've been enjoying the Jeopardy "Vault" episodes

Yeah this is fair. And I bet all of us tend to watch less when they're losing.

My daughter claims that she is "reading" when she listens to an audio book.

In this same vein, I will claim in this poll that I am "watching" when I listen to the game on the radio.

Listening is my mode -- Joe Castiglione makes me nostalgic and I can do dishes, mow the lawn, fold laundry, etc.. The sounds and rhythm of the game means summer. (The commercials are far more intrusive now than they previously were, though.)

This season seems that it's going to be the mode that the travel rather than the destination provides the value. Admittedly, as T4W points out, I do listen less attentively when their starting pitching is a flaming dumpster fire.

Between the uncompetitive pitching and the lack of fans, I find it to be almost unwatchable. I watched about 6 innings of the opener and maybe 6 innings since.

It's hard to say what "less than before" means after only a handful of games. I've watched every game available to me. I'll watch every game my DVR records but it's much more background than at any other time. The combination of the season being not actually an MLB season and the team being not actually an MLB team have dampened my enthusiasm.

I also basically never post on the main board. I don't do game threads because I don't watch live (ever) and I learned a long time ago that any thought I have on baseball will be expressed more eloquently and clearly by someone smarter than me before I finish typing.

I pause it on Youtube and skim over it if the game isn't particularly close. The majority of baseball I watch on MLBTV for games I find more interesting. It's still a minor distraction and kind of baseball.

I've tuned in, at some point, to every game so far. But I haven't spent a ton of time with the games overall, since the Sox have been non-competitive in 4 of the 5. And starting tomorrow, as the NBA and NHL returns, I expect my time spent will plunge dramatically. It sucks because I've been very excited for baseball to return. But the team is so damn awful, it's difficult to invest much time in them.

I watched innings 3 - 9 Friday Night. After that, between them already being out of it by the time I can tune in and now hockey starting I’m basically checking in on MLB Gameday.

The lack of fans is an interesting note. I watch a lot of soccer and there's no fans there, but what's different is that you really can't tell from the standard angles shown on TV. That, plus the fake fan noise, gives the impression of a crowd. For MLB, some teams have just empty seats behind home plate and it's really noticeable and takes away, for me at least, part of the drama.

Them losing 4 games in a row might impact tonight's viewing, but I think the atmosphere has had a bit of an effect on me.

My enthusiasm for the season is the lowest I've ever had for any of the 4-major sports ever and by a wide margin. I'm out of town and stream games and watched most of the first game and a few innings after that, but I really don't care all that much. Except I really would prefer the MFY not win. I plan to watch off-on but I'm pretty indifferent as to outcome, except as just noted. Whether I'd feel differently if the Sox were more competitve or the season were longer is debatable. I've felt for sometime this patchwork season should get over ASAP and be hung with an asterisk.

I just started poking around baseball-reference today. I don't see any stats other than the B Ref simulated 2020 stats. Why are those not up?

I've had it on the laptop next to me with half an eye on that and the other eye and a half on the TV. Still fairly engaged at the moment but basketball/hockey are going to usurp it this weekend.

For me, this is a fake season, and so I've watched very little. I'm not sure that I would feel differently if the Red Sox were competitive. My rooting interests are that I want the Yankees and Astros to fail, and I want the Red Sox to have a high draft pick next year, so the more losses the better. I expect to be excited about the Red Sox' chances in 2022 or 2023, but not before.

Zero. I’m not particularly invested in this season, it feels like a barnstorming year. And I’ve had my hands full with other stuff and have to work really early in the AM nowadays.

I watched all of the first game, forgot that Saturday's game was a day game so I missed all of it. I followed a bit on my phone on Sunday and realized what a waste of time it would be to follow this season, especially with the whole Marlins thing going on and the assumption that the season will be cancelled at some point. I'll probably watch a few games here and there, but nothing like my usual routine of watching anywhere from 120-150 games a year.

I've been watching but as much to goof around in the gamethread as to watch the baseball. I've been switching pretty liberally to the MLS is back games which are on at the same time, while keeping up with the gamethread. No MLS tonight so not sure what I'm going to do. When the NHL palooza starts this weekend, I think there's a good chance it will divert my attention significantly.

I've been doing my usual, sit out on the pool deck playing ball with the dogs and "watching" on my iPad. They're playing horribly but Eck and Remy are fantastic and entertaining.

I follow the game threads more than I actually watch the games tbh. They just haven't been competitive enough to be worth the time at the moment and none of the guys they have trotted out to start have been promising enough for me to tune in just to see how they do. Will try and watch today since Nate is pitching

I watched the games on Saturday and Sunday. It would be more appealing to watch if the team wasn’t a dumpster fire. I’ll probably catch some of tonight’s game as I think it’s DeGrom against Eovaldi, but the pitching is abysmal and the offense has been inconsistent at best.

I welcome some sense of normalcy back into our lives, but this team would be agonizing to follow for 162 games.

I've watched bits and pieces of all the games, but I have read through all the game threads ,which have been highly entertaining and in many cases, hysterical.

So the game threads have been entertaining; the actual team, not so much.

Ive tried to watch at least a few innings of each game with the baby because he now can say baseball, but oddly similar to @InstaFace MLS has been stealing us away. He loves screaming kick and goal more than anything baseball related.

Yeah, at this point if I had to choose between an injury that keeps Eovaldi from playing and an injury that keeps E5 from the gamethreads, it wouldn't be an easy choice.

First 3 innings of each game although I check back in every so often
We're a tag-team! For night games, I watch the last couple innings, after my wife has gone to bed, finally allowing me to touch the remote.

I did watch both weekend games. The problem is, it's really been hard to watch.

This is especially true with the Mets, but don't they just look more ATHLETIC than us? Other than JBJ and X, the Sox just look like a bunch of guys, not a bunch of highly paid athletes. Anyway...

Watched the entire first game and small parts of all the others. Once the BP pitching starts and they can't get anyone out, I move on. So I voted 50%. Very unusual for me. I usually watch most of 100-150 games in a (normal) season.

Can't say my viewing habits have changed much at all. I've seen the first few innings of the night games (I usually crash 9-9:30 every night), all of Saturday's game, none of Sunday's. It's baseball. I like baseball. Even ugly sloppy baseball.

I haven't watched one pitch and I don't miss it at all. I think it's a combo of what's going on in the world and the heinous product they've put on the field. In my mind I've said that this season really doesn't count anyways, but I have to imagine if the team was actually good, I might feel differently. And I could also apply the same logic of not caring because of Covid, but the same doesn't apply for the B's and C's, which I am excited to start watching.

So, some combo of a terrible team and the sport really not doing it for me anymore. The poster that said they would like to cross reference the zero votes with time on the main board would be bingo for me. It's the part of the board that I visit the least.

Watched the entire opener, most of Saturday and Sunday, its been on in the background while doing other things the last two nights. Have a feeling background noise will be the case going forward, if they continue this level of suck.

On opening day I went to sigh up for MLB EI and saw that they're charging more than half the price for about a third of the season. So I said fuck that and haven't watching an inning.

I've watched--almost all of--every game, although probably not as intently as I have in previous seasons. With all the excitement and winning that the Sox have provided over the past few years, I feel a certain obligation to stick with them through this weird season and their poor start...not that anyone will know whether I'm watching or not, except me. But I'll try to find some fun in every game--from Remy's "cup slide" comment, to Raffy's always smile-inducing facial expressions, to hopefully a few wins against teams that they probably shouldn't beat. I have no idea how long the season is going to last, so I'll try to enjoy it while I can.
