Plenty of time for them to drop their price to like a 2/4. I wouldn’t pay that price given his age but somebody closer to contention might.

Isn't Edelman a lot more physical than JSN though? I've thought JSN is a more athletic Keenan Allen winning with a plethora of moves vs. Edelman who had some wiggle but was also very physical at catch point.JSN isn’t a field stretched but neither was Welker or Edelman and that’s largely who JSN is. An Edelman type with better hands and even better route running. (Coming out//early on)
lol, i love when coaches shop guys for 2-3 weeks then give a quote about sending a message that they aren't available and never were. If Jerry Jeudy weren't available you make that quote weeks ago, and your GM certainly isn't leaking offers to local press.

The true art here has to be keeping guys out of the rumor mill in the first place, either by keeping talks discreet or by distracting media by "leaking" info on other teams' guys. Another alternative is the Danny Ainge radical transparency approach: just make clear everyone is tradeable at any time. In that case no one can complain that they were surprised or that expectations were unclear.lol, i love when coaches shop guys for 2-3 weeks then give a quote about sending a message that they aren't available and never were. Sean Payton has also done this before, calling reports the Saints were looking at trading Brandin Cooks trash, before trading Brandin Cooks.Meh--Giants said the same with OBJ and the Titans with AJ Brown--weeks before trading them.
That said, I don't think the #1 should be in play unless there's a pick coming back.
If you told me he has the playing strength and physical/mental toughness of Jules? Yeah.By the way Matt Waldman just compared JSN to… a carbon copy of Julian Edelman with a touch of Greg Jennings. “The safest receiver in the draft”. I’m going to hate seeing him elsewhere. Because I think in a vacuum if you knew you were getting Edelman you’d take him at 14, right? Now I know I know I know you can’t know that for sure. But let’s just pretend again that you magically know. I could see you taking Darnell Wright over him. I could see you taking Dalton Kincaid over him or maybe an edge. But he should be at the top of your board with a handful of other guys.
He pancakes DBs as a blocker. He’s a tough MFer. He takes hits gets right up and chirps. He is a clone my friend. It’s crazy how similar they are.If you told me he has the playing strength and physical/mental toughness of Jules? Yeah.
JSN is just the prototype of the kind of receiver that has flourished in their system. I think he's easily worth 14 and if they don't draft him he'll be another "he was right there!" guy like Deebo and AJ Brown.By the way Matt Waldman just compared JSN to… a carbon copy of Julian Edelman with a touch of Greg Jennings. “The safest receiver in the draft”. Maybe, I would also note that the odds of those being the 13 teams that pick before us and in that order are really low.So, if JSN is the guy we want, who are the teams we have to worry about scooping him up before 14th?
1) Carolina Panthers- Stroud/Young/Richardson
2) Houston Texans- Stroud/Young/Richardson
3) Arizona Cardinals- Could use a young stud WR (Marquise Brown, Pascal, and Hopkins are all free agents this or next year). But they do have Rondale Moore, and it would be pretty hard to pass up on Will Anderson in this spot.
4) Indianapolis Colts- Stroud/Young/Richardson
5) Seattle Seahawks- Need defense, not offense.
6) Detroit Lions- Need defense, not offense.
7) Las Vegas Raiders- Need defense, not offense. Have the third most cap already tied up with Adams, Renfroe, and the newly signed Jakobi. Can't see them spending this capital on another WR.
8) Atlanta Falcons- Drake London looks promising, and they have other holes to fill.
9) Chicago Bears - Yep. Need plenty of things, but a WR is on the list.
10) Philadelphia Eagles- Nope.
11) Tennessee Titans - Selected Treylon Burks last year. Pretty rare for a team to spend back to back first round picks on WR, but it could happen.
12) Houston Texans - Lots of needs, including WR.
13) New York Jets- Lazard and Wilson don't expire until 2027. Corey David and Mecole Hardman blocking the way. I don't see it.
So...Bears, Titans, Texans. Does that feel right?
We never know what BB is going to do, but it always seems to leave us scratching our collective heads. Even if it turns out great, it's always a... huh, I wouldn't have thought that. You just know they'll trade down with JSN on the board. I feel it in my bones (and would be fine with it if they came away with Zay Flowers after said trade down).
Trade down makes a ton of sense. Though honestly as much as I generally like JSN, the more I look at our needs and this draft the less I think drafting him makes sense. There are good tackles in the 1st round, we need Tackle more than anything else long term, and you're not getting one after round 1 likely (or I guess like 33 maybe?), there are capable WRs who'll be there in the 2nd and 3rd.You just know they'll trade down with JSN on the board. I'm guessing they either tackle a tackle or trade down--it's not clear at all to me that you can get an ok tackle later in the draft but the options at WR and DB don't look particularly enticing at 14.Trade down makes a ton of sense. yeah, in a vacuum you could talk me into JSN at 14, but the thing is there are going to be OT, CB and front 7 players there who might be better, and a tradedown 5-10 picks might still gets you one of them or JSN. Also, in the 2nd and 3rd there are a lot of interesting pass-catchers who could be there (WR and TE) but OT is going to be a wasteland.I'm guessing they either tackle a tackle or trade down--it's not clear at all to me that you can get an ok tackle later in the draft but the options at WR and DB don't look particularly enticing at 14.
If any conference is due to produce a true, elite game changing WR, it's the PAC-12. Aiuyuk and Pittman are fine guys for where they were picked, but if the Pats are thinking about using the #14 on Addison, uggh. Trade down and get him at 25-30, and I think I could be sold a bit more, but the nightmares of John Ross, N'Keal Harry....
Yeah, don't like him at 14. Giardi calls him a first round lock but I wouldn't be surprised to see Addison slide into the 2nd.If any conference is due to produce a true, elite game changing WR, it's the PAC-12. Maybe him and JuJu can bond over their time in Trojan Land, and it works.
Me too. I think there is a drop off from them to him. Addison is best as a slot - he can be ok as a flanker but really struggled against press this year.I like JSN and even Flowers a lot better than Addison.
