Seems to me Luka pushes off pretty egregiously, throwing his arm/elbow into Green. Green with his arms up/slightly bent is ticky tak and could see either way. Luka's is the more obvious foul.
I agree this is not a foul on Green for the reasons you state and espeically one that isn’t going to be called in the final seconds.

Brook Lopez is two threes/blocks away from breaking Raef LaFrentz's all-time record for most combined threes/blocks in a season of 317.

There must be a minimum threshold for each, since the individual records for threes and blocks are each over 400.

We’ve seen player transformations over time but have we ever seen such a drastic change in one players skillset on BOTH sides of the floor since entering the league? Guy went from a low-post automatic bucket who could be taken advantage of defensively….to a three-point shooting elite defender. Pretty remarkable from my seat.

Correct. I remember a few years ago someone mentioned that LaFrentz had the record and I spent a while researching it to see if it is true. The "real" record is Mark Eaton in 1985, when he had 456 blocks and 0 three pointers. Someone like Klay Thompson had 325 combined in 2016 (276 threes, 48 blocks) for a little more balance. But as far as someone with at least 100 each, it has been LaFrentz. It's an interesting combo of skill sets that is super helpful to teams, because it's rare to get somebody that can protect the paint at an elite level AND space the floor.

Maybe Wemby or Chet smashes this thing to smithereens though.

He will be 35 next year. He is an UFA. Wonder what sort of deal he is looking at? 2/30 from MIL?

around the way
TO be fair I guess it could be strategic, whining about the refs does take attention away from their front office being a toxic cesspool of harrassment and misbehaviour, their coach being both a shitty person and bad at his job, their stars being a weirdo ant-semitism dabbler and white Harden with less stamina.
I can't believe that the bolded went unapplauded.

His style of play, drop coverage & 3pt bombing, are aging well

He is at a 6 year high in mpg, ppg, rebs, eFG%, blocks...basically playing every game (73)

we could all use some of those supplements...

I'm looking at this now and see that Brook Lopez himself had a total of 366 in 2018-2019, so ignore everything I said about Lopez breaking the "record" this season. Doh!

Manute Bol had 365 in 1989, 20 threes (in 91 attempts) and 345 blocks

James Harden came pretty close in 2018-19: 378 3-pointers + 58 blocks = 436. In Steph Curry's 400-3-pointer season in 2015-16, he drained 402 of them but only had 15 blocks (= 417).

Serge Ibaka had a start of career with massive #s of blocks (241, 242, 219 in seasons ending '12, '13, '14), before becoming a good 3-point shooter after that (77, 60, 124 and 107 in seasons ending '15, '16, '17, '18). Ibaka's 124 3s / 124 blocks in 2016-17 was at the time probably the highest single-season # for anyone who put up at least that number of 3s and blocks. Beaten only two years later by Lopez in 2018-19, as you observe (187 + 179 = 366) and this year, where he's got 8 games and in theory could still top himself.

"big men who can shoot 3s" is a very recent innovation in basketball, I think.

New ESPN story: Before tonight's game here in Philadelphia, Raptors coach Nick Nurse said he's going to "take a few weeks to see where I'm at" at the conclusion of what he called "a difficult season from a number of standpoints."
If Nurse is gone this could be a potential landing spot for Udoka.

The Toronto Raptors are 40-40, exactly .500... and are last in their division.

The Miami Heat are 43-37, consigned to the play-in tournament... and have won their division.

Wonder if there will be any discussion in the offseason about making division winners exempt from the play-in tournament. I could see arguments both ways. Not sure where I stand on that one.

I expect expansion will continue to lessen division importance. More focus on EC and WC. Play-In games have been a huge success, which also lessens division importance.

Mikal Bridges will start today, commit take foul, and be subbed out……all in the name of keeping his consecutive game streak intact.

Seems like a bad move. Deal with the suspension or whatever discipline after the season.

Honestly, I think this whole thing is overblown. He barely punched him, and even so, it was in the arm. These dudes have all dealt with far worse over their playing careers

Effect of the move is a red carpet for the Lakers move

Maybe, but Anderson seemed to take it kind of hard afterwords, regarding the leaked video from the locker room. Also, it's not like the Wolves have a history of making bad player related decisions.

Draymond does have a lot of experience in the field of punching teammates, so I'm sure he has a lot to offer on the subject.

Ya'll are going to love Draymond's take on this Gobert saga.

View: https://twitter.com/Money23Green/status/1645188585669414912
Some context is missing here….

Gobert tweeted that out after the Draymond punching video leaked. Apparently Draymond held onto that for a very long time and was waiting for the opportunity to post it to throw it back in Gobert’s face.

Of course, Gobert threw a punch at someone looking at him and at chest level. Draymond threw a haymaker at a teammates jaw that was barely paying attention.
But facts don’t seem to matter much to triple single

He seemed to take it just fine

“Ah, yeah. It is what it is, and move forward. We want to win games. It is what it is. It ain’t the first time someone has swung on me. It is what it is. We keep it in house.”

Call my cynical to not take his public statement at face value, but I sort of think calling Rudy a bitch and the leaked audio about the club needing to make a choice is maybe slightly more indicative of what's going on behind closed doors.

Slo-Mo seems to be getting a pass from everyone but he reportedly instigated this confrontation in the locker room during halftime and provoked him during the timeout. Not saying this let’s Gobert off the hook by any means as you can’t punch your teammate on the bench lol…..but you also can’t trigger a teammate the way Slo-Mo did.

It will be hilarious when the Wolves go into LA and beat the Lakers. They are better off with Gobert sitting, with KAT manning the middle. Edwards needs to dominate, and Conley, Prince, Anderson all need to play well. They probably are going to have to dust off Austin Rivers for some important minutes.

They're not really better off with Rudy sitting. At all. And I say that as someone who thinks Rudy is overrated in general. But Gobert is also a perfect match for AD, historically winning their battles and doing so 1-1. KAT manning the middle is a recipe for AD to dominate and for KAT to get into foul trouble.

I can see Minnesota winning this. Ewing Effect and all of that, plus Ant is capable of dominating a game and KAT, too. But losing Gobert is definitely a blow.

I should have clarified. The Gobert that attempted to play and could barely do anything, is the one Minny is better off not playing.
