Does anybody have experience using an iphone on Google Fi network? My wife and I are Android users and want to get our daughter a phone. Leaning iPhone since that's what the kids use but curious if we're better off switching our service if we go that route. Looks like iphones work on Fi now but with some limitations. Thanks!

I'm following this thread with interest. I'm an iPhone user and I looked into Fi when I recently switched from Verizon, but I ended up happy with US Mobile. US Mobile uses the Verizon network (and others), which was critical for me. So that's one option: you could keep Fi for yourselves but get your daughter an inexpensive, single-line plan with another provider.

I have Google Fi and my thirteen year old son, with an older iPhone, is on Fi as of Christmas. So far so good on the network end, no issues connecting or using it (and my son would let me know immediately if there was some functionality that wasn't working). Google has really good guidance on iPhone to Fi in their FAQs and stuff.

The caveat is that my wife has an iPhone on Verizon so she has oversight over my son's apps and all that since they are connected. But happy to answer any questions.

I think the iPhone is pinned to T-Mobile and won't use US Cellular (or the latter's sometimes roaming to AT&T), so it's more limited. I think the international features (on the per-GB or unlimited plus plans) will work fine. I forget if you need to do physical or eSIM, there was definitely only one that worked but that may no longer be the case.
