Inside the Pylon has recently announced that we are launching our first-ever draft guide! This will include profiles of our top 100 draft prospects, cross-checked by former NFL scout and The Scouting Academy director Dan Hatman, Locked on NFL Draft and Breaking the Plane host Jon Ledyard, and Pylon U hosts Shane Alexander and Jeff Feyerer. SoSH fingerprints, unsurprisingly, are all over it: @mascho breaking down QBs, @Delonte James Jr. on fantasy implications, yours truly looking at corners and safeties, our team of editors (@ScubaSteveAvery, @Reverend, @wibi, @ThePrideofShiner, @Darnell's Son) making it readable, and @IdiotKicker prettying it up. The guide will feature NFL-style scouting reports from over 20 ITP evaluators, interviews with players about the draft process, fantasy analysis, essays, scheme fits, an agent's perspective, and more. And prior to the release date of April 1st, you can pre-order with the DRAFTME17 code for $5 off the regular price of $34.95. It has been a lot fun watching this take shape behind the scenes; I think draft geeks are going to love it.

Not going to lie, I went to that page with fairly low expectations as this was the first attempt, but am blown away at the level of analysis you guys have done.

Good on you.

So who's who in this motley crew?

Edit: stickied.
Looking from left to right:

Joe Ferriola
Ethan Young (@NFLDrafter)
Sal Conti ( @SC2Football)
Jon Ledyard ( @LedyardNFLDraft)
Sean Cottrell ( @PhllyDraft)
Brandon Thorn ( @VeteranScout)
Dan Hatman ( @Dan_Hatman)
Shane Alexander ( @Alexander1Great)
Some jackass who thinks he knows QBs

That was the ITP crew down in Mobile for the Senior Bowl

Anyway, we're really excited about how this is coming together, and think it will be a really good product. Thanks to everyone at SOSH for all the support.

Thanks for all the support guys! You've always been the foundation of our readership and we haven't forgotten that. To build off of what Archie said, and give an editors perspective, you'll be blown away by both the quantity and quality of analysis in this guide. We've gotten a firehose of stuff for this guide. And players and agents have been really candid in their interviews too, which will be great reading for people. I view this more like a Bill James/Baseball Prospectus/Hardball Times type abstracts than simply a collection of scouting reports. You'll get those (and having edited a bunch, they are fantastic) plus a ton of other unique content to reference as well.

To give a brief update, we are putting the guide through final proofing now. You'll receive 100 profiles, player interviews (both NFL and CFB), 6 or 7 essays, and chats between our position team scouts. For instance, the DB team went back and forth for 27(!) pages about this DB draft class. So you'll get to see why players were graded the way they were. Plus some more stuff too! There is over 400 pages of content for you.

I'm super proud of what we've produced and encourage you to pick up a copy. We are running a promotion where 1 buyer per day is getting a full refund. The promotion runs through Friday. Let us know if you have any questions!

The ITP Draft Guide was featured in Peter King's MMQB column this morning, next to Dane Brugler's and the PFF draft subscription.

We also added some sample pages to the draft guide website in case you want a preview of what the guide's look like before purchasing.

Let us know if you have any questions about the guide!

Hi gang, we just released the 2018 edition of the Draft Guide! This time we've got 185 player profiles, more scouts (50+), more cross-checks (~1000 reports on 550+ players to find the group who made it), more essays, and lots of other cool stuff and goodies. Still a lot of the usual ITP suspects involved, including @mascho, @Delonte James Jr. , @ScubaSteveAvery , and me. If you liked last year's you'll love this edition; we are very proud of it. We sent Adam Schefter a copy and he retweeted the guide earlier today ... that was pretty cool.

I meant to announce this a few weeks ago during pre-order but I forgot, so I'm setting up a special SOSH-only promo code "SOSH5" for $5 off which is good for the next week (expires 11:59 on 4/9). Shhhh ... don't tell anyone.

We're also trying to drum up interest / sales so any social media plugging is welcome. Thanks for your support (both with this and through the years; without SoSH there is no ITP).

I purchased two draft guides this year, ITP's and NDT's.

Why do I love ITP so much? Just a handful of reasons...

1) ITP's draft guide is done by having a team of scouts focusing on one area and getting cross-checked. Most draft guides are done by 1-2 people scouting 100-300+ guys at all positions.
2) ITP's draft guide covers players who are hard to find film on and who you wouldn't necessarily know to scout anyway.
3) The bonus content is incredible. The essays were fantastic - loved the draft strategy and team building ones in particular.
4) The style of their guide and how they evaluate and project players. This is also a learning experience for me on what is important and how to scout. More on this below.

ITP covers the important traits for prospects like football intelligence, play strength, play speed, etc. So I have a quick and dirty scouting report of just numbers that give me a good picture in my head of the player and then they have a 1-2 page writeup giving context and explaining what the prospect does well and struggles with. I learn more each time about what makes a player good at his position and what traits/abilities are important for each position.

Then they release a supplemental piece after the draft that looks at how the prospects and how they fit on each team.

They also have a nice fantasy piece in there if that is your thing.

This is the most comprehensive draft guide out there. You will be a better and more informed fan for reading it.

My next step? Well, thanks to listening to the ITP/BTP podcast, LockedonNFL Draft, Draft Dudes, LockedonPatriots and purchasing the multiple guides, as well as looking at over 150 prospects myself this year I am going to put together a mock Patriots draft board. I will be giving credit to everyone for their material in helping to make the guide and will not reveal anything behind a paywall like rankings. I think I can have the guide done 1-2 weeks before the draft.
