The Blue Jays are the only team other AL East team I can stomach.  Now that they have Tulo, in particular, I hope they make a strong run and top the MFY.  I also hope they do well in the playoffs.  They will be fun to watch.
I never could get past the artificial turf at Rogers, but they did replace it for this year. The BJs uni, especially the hat is meh too. But, Tulo went to Fremont High, 4 -5 miles up the road from me. Always liked him, and Donaldson. Probably never like Price. A luke warm heidy ho and sort of go Jays!

You bring up Samardzija, but he came along with another pitcher and was probably one of the worst( or best for the Cubs) trades in the past few years. A better example would be to look at Price last year, which netted Smyly and Nick Franklin. Many people were questioning why the Rays took so little. Id take the Tigers haul this year over the Rays last year.

Ya, Samardzija is an outrageously bad comparison.  In that deal there were TWO SPs who were pitching lights out.  Hammel was sporting an ERA/FIP/XFIP all around 3 when he was dealt.  Not to mention the extra year of control Shark had.

I'm not even offering an opinion on the deals that were made by Ben, but if you're going to be snarky about it you'd better be presenting a much better comp than that.

You'd have been better off comparing the Shark-Hammel deal with the combined return for Lackey and Lester...two guys pitching very well, one a free agent and the other with a year left on his deal.

Too bad (for the BJs) that Stroman won't throw a pitch this year.

Price
Stroman
Buehrle
Dickey
Sanchez

And a 1-5 of:

Tulo
Donaldson
Bautista
Encarnacion
Martin
