Yeah, but does a .500 team making a tournament for which half of baseball qualified after a 60 game season and then getting swept really count? I guess they managed to first beat the Cubs two games in a row though, so bravo!

Bob Klapisch thinks Manfred should ask Captain Intangibles to bring his calm eyes to the negotiation table to save baseball.

So what can Jeter do to help Manfred? He could start by sitting in on the next negotiating session. Just being there would show the union a degree of empathy that’s been missing so far.
That’s why saving baseball from itself might just appeal to Jeter. The game could use a savior. And we all know Manfred needs the PR makeover. For a man with a winning resume, this could be Jeter’s greatest triumph of all.
Apparently just being in the presence of His Jeterness will shame both parties into putting aside their massive differences and immediately hammering out a new CBA in a show of harmony.
