The Jets are just the gift that keeps on giving.

Had to figure Saleh was done after he made Rodgers throw 3 picks last game.

I think he's a poor coach ... but I don't see what this does other than throw the entire team into even more chaos.

Saleh 4-13 against the spread against NFC teams is all you need to know about how lousy he was at his job.

He wasn't a good coach and the team always underperforms. But turning this team over to Hackett and Rodgers is not a masterstroke either.

And that's why they're the Jets. 100 year old starting QB, so let's fire the head coach five weeks into the season--that'll work.
Since Rex Ryan was fired in 2014 the Jets will be looking g for their 4th dead coach.

I can't be surprised at all. We all knew Rodgers would be running the place sooner or later.
Saleh was a dead man walking before the season even started, at this point why not let AR try and coach the team as it can't be any worse then what Saleh has done over the last few years. :D

They are getting what they asked for in Rodgers. A condescending jerk (with a rapidly declining onfield skill set) who's blowing things up from within. Saleh wasn't a very good coach but this is dysfunctional. If you wanted to fire him, do it last off-season. Nothing he's done this season (other than some mild criticism of Rodgers) is different than last season.

Rodgers and CM Punk are really the same person--it's amazing.

Saleh was 20-36 in NYJ but it's the Jets so trying to figure out exactly how bad he was seems a futile exercise. He was really well regarded as a coordinator before taking the HC job.

Woody must have grown tired of his act.
Ulbrich not Hackett to HC. We will see what happens. Team was never ready to play.

So my question is can the NIners also clear some things and hire him as DC like right away? He excelled at that job before (and thet led him ti be hired by the Jets)

He's a defensive guy and the defense has been legit good for them.

The problem is they never had a QB and the offense has been putrid. 40 year old Rodgers coming off a torn achilles is the best option he's ever had at QB. He failed to develop Wilson but maybe Wilson wasn't ever going to develop. Who knows.

He had the best defense in the league by almost all metrics from 2021-present. He never figured out the offense, but... his QBs did him no favors, nor did he GM by forcing him to hire an OC to get a QB who then got hurt and looked pretty washed since, and the QB is no vetoing the ideas (motion) that his handpicked OC wants to try.

I’m really wondering if Saleh was the guy that wanted Darnold gone when he came in and Woody couldn’t stomach watching Sam go 5-0 against this shitshow. I had always put that decision on Douglas.

Ulbrich not Hackett to HC.
Damn! That sucks. Nothing in recent years has topped the hilarity of Hackett's ever reddening cheeks as he fumbled game after game as the HC of DEN Broncos. Ulbrich seems like a turbo rah rah guy who will likely stink as much as Hackett would have, so at least there's that upside.

This reeks of AR influence. Typical Jets ownership to cave to an aging QB and fire their HC five weeks into the season.

This is an odd situation. Saleh is an average coach - not great, not putrid - and has talent on the team. So I get letting him go. But letting him go because AR is pouting and wants to scapegoat him also seems bad.

Ultimately it falls on him to solve the offense but he was dealt a bad hand. I would love to see what he could have done with a competent offensive coaching staff and players. Bowles rebounded in TB. Saleh should rebound somewhere eventually as well. His defense was usually well prepared and situationally sound but the offense was not.
