Hoping that he's not the third round pick they traded for.Atlanta's third round pick Bralen Trice blew out his knee in their first preseason game in Miami. I'm not sure this happens without injury.
I was expecting a 5th or a 4th if we were lucky. Desperation is a stinky cologne. That’s pretty good value for Judon at this point in his career. Not sure he has that much left in the tank after the injury.
Looks like it saves them $6.7mm against this years cap, using https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/new-england-patriotsDid they free up money?
I'd say the middle. Likely aren't appreciably better (or worse) than last year's 7-10 record. How’s Atlanta this year? Is that 3rd closer to top half (2nd round) or bottom half (fourth)?
Who knows in that division. ... But Cousins, if he stays upright, should help themHow’s Atlanta this year? Is that 3rd closer to top half (2nd round) or bottom half (fourth)?
It’s hard to know but Judon addresses their biggest need: pass rush and in particular edge rusher. They are probably a middle of the pack team with a good ceiling if they can get quality QB play. How’s Atlanta this year? Is that 3rd closer to top half (2nd round) or bottom half (fourth)?

Also a pretty bad division; I could see them winning 6 or all the way up to 11 games. In contrast with the Patriots who I could see winning 1, 2 or 3 games. It’s hard to know but Judon addresses their biggest need: pass rush and in particular edge rusher. I figured going into the year with Judon and Barmore and Gonzo they would be a top 10 defense. No Judon or Barmore and this could be just an average unit to pair with the offense which we know is very likely going to be poor. A middle of the pack defense + a bottom 3 offense + a rough schedule + a new coaching staff is definitely 1-4 win material. So frustrating. Also a pretty bad division; I could see them winning 6 or all the way up to 11 games. In contrast with the Patriots who I could see winning 1, 2 or 3 games.
Are we tanking for Cooper Flagg?Goodbye my red sleeved boy… it hurts to see him go. If he plays the full season Atlanta made out slightly. That being said I doubt he plays a full 17 and I’ll gladly take their 3rd. No Barmore and no Judon is really making me question how good this defense can be. Oshane Ximines is going to get a ton of playing time.
They wouldn't have had the3rd any more. He would have already traded it for a 5th and a 6thWonder if Belichick would have made that trade, had he been in ATL
But a decent first round draft pick next year and a shot at a franchise tackle. SMU who would that be in your opinion?I figured going into the year with Judon and Barmore and Gonzo they would be a top 10 defense. Fixed that for you. They need help across the line come next season. Hopefully OK at RG with Owenu but the rest of the line will probably need to be upgraded. Can he blockthe left side?
It’s brutal that we can’t pencil strange in as a solid starterFixed that for you. They need help across the line come next season. Hopefully OK at RG with Owenu but the rest of the line will probably need to be upgraded.
Agreed. Basically a Gilmore type signing with much worse timing.Judon has to be one of the best free agent signings in Pats history, even if it came during some lean years as a team.
A 1-4 win season will be very difficult to watch, but the most frustrating thing will be if they can't show any improvement over the course of the year (even if they keep losing). I think parting ways with Judon could force others to step up, likely won't move the needle on how bad this team is and, if it does, sets them up slightly better for 2025. It sucks to be in this position but I can't really fault the trade.I figured going into the year with Judon and Barmore and Gonzo they would be a top 10 defense. Bears were in the mix too.His age/injury history/falling off the cliff to end the year made me think he was going to be traded for like a 6th rounder the day we needed to make the final roster.
Can't believe we got a 3rd. Could there been another team we used for leverage ?
