Do you think commentators ever get tired of thinking up something to talk about and slip the score keeper a twenty to falsify an error and give them a topic for an inning of banter?

Speaking of scorekeeping. I guess you have to rule plays like Vargas going on the buried curve in the dirt a wild pitch. Not a steal. Hits dirt first. Even though it really was deliberate, and also head's up running.

Impressive stuff for Duran: Entering today, lefties had just a .242 wOBA against Stone's change. That's 7th lowest/best among pitchers with 50+ PA ending in a change. Right above (better) above him is a familiar name with Bello's .239.

Youk is talking about the angels stadium being great. I so don’t get that, and I’ve been there - very little special about that place

I think this happens but the commentators pay in crypto. Youk definitely has crypto.

Interesting, it’s one of the ones I’ve never been to but I always thought it looked cool with the rocks in center field. What’s wrong with it?

Of course this team takes Trevor Story back. A bit awkward incorporating a guy in the middle of the playoffs, but you find a way to work him back in slowly if he's healthy and ready to play

Okay, random Dodger Stadium thoughts, been touring in a lot of them this year...

Dodger Stadium is great. Assuming you get the close seats right behind home. Honestly enjoy it more than any park I've been to.

Dodgers brought me a pin for my birthday this year. Great buffet with great dogs, self serve, drinks, and a rotating special. Wasn't rushed out when it ended, they just let me relax as much as I wanted on soft serve and lemonade. All in a really clever rotating eight design in the buffet near the carving station where I had the best turkey of my life. They also have EVERY ever: Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, Cy Young, and MVP (including a Chalmers from 1913!), World Series trophy, 1955 signed Brooklyn bat from every member. No place matches how they do their history on semi-public display. Yankees and the Bronx would blush.

Only thing I find a pain is the parking, rideshare, etc. it's a good mile walk up a hill to get there. But man it's cool if you haven't been. Feels like it's hidden inside a campground for secret baseball.

it’s not bad but there are so many I like better: pnc (place is amazing), San Fran, Camden, San Diego, wrigley, Philly and so on

Also i went to get a hot dog and missed practically a whole inning bc the service was molasses slow (and there was barely anyone in line!)

I have to admit my favorite was the old toilet. That place was incredible

Good story from Joe Davis about Cora using Beltre's early defensive struggles as motivation for Devers to improve

I once saw Fernando Valenzuela sitting alone in the press pregame buffet, eating five or six hot dogs. Just looking off into the distance.

A good magician never reveals her secrets...unless it's for SoSH. Always can give that away. I watch in real time as I do stats. But I suppose I could code the pregame notes I make every game, every team!

Truly. I've seen two of Stone's starts this season in person: June 2nd against Colorado and then June 8 against the Yankees. He tunnels SUPER well. Like it's really traditional pitching but notice how he sets up low with his fast ball, and then he starts his change basically where it dips at the same knee height as the fastball. Similar early movement and release point so it's well placed* that by the time you realize, it's too late, you're out ahead.

*Dodgers philosophy in pitching is really simple and Stone seems to be a devout disciple of it.. They value location over movement which they value above velocity. Been told this by Orel who originally espoused and wrote about this as a focus and philosophy nearly 40 years ago.

Lefty - lefty - lefty seems sub optimal. Just asking to get shredded by a lefty reliever

My one visit to Dodger Stadium was in ‘86 vs the Mets team that would break my heart in about 3 months. We were in the bleachers for a Fernando start. I can’t imagine having more fun at a baseball game.

Sure seems like Wilyer is pressing and swinging at an awful lot of marginal garbage that he wasn't swing at for his first 250 MLB PAs

I've been getting into integrating AI chatbots into one of my products at work and it's hilariously easy to set up the tech. The tricky bit is forced context so the AI doesn't start making shit up.

Just 4 walks in June and July in like 70 plate appearances. Just about 6% of the time

I'm losing my mind over Pivetta striking Ohtani out with a bunch of stuff above the belt. Hilarious
