Yes, D&C are in Indy for EEI (as are Mutt & Merloni and Ordway & Holley). My point was that NESN isn't about to spend the money to send their cameras out there and pay for satellite time to beam the 12 hours of broadcast from Indy back to Watertown so they can send it out on their air. I'm actually shocked that NESN sent Dara whatshername out with Jeff Howe to do the bit I saw on NESN Daily this morning.wait, D&C aren't doing the show from the Super Bowl this week? aren't they scheduled to be there Saturday for EEI?
is there a special NESN segment that they record earlier?NESN never played the Brady interviews. And it was taped Saturday
Most of the time, NESN either cuts away to a replay of NESN Daily or they'd replay the previous 20-25 minutes of D&C with the ticker running below saying that they'd return to the live simulcast once the interview was over. Yesterday, they replayed the first segment of the show.is there a special NESN segment that they record earlier?
So is it the national footprint of Comcast that allows Felger and Mazz to do so? They've been simulcasting.
And NESN is C-H-E-A-P.And also YES does Francesca.
So I wasn't watching on NESN this morning...so I am not quite understanding the back and forth here...is NESN just showing stills during the simulcast? And NESN is C-H-E-A-P.
Simple as that.
NESN Daily will run from 6-9 a.m. for the rest of Super Bowl week, preempting the D&C simulcast, though it will have segments in each show.
@ryenarussillo
russilloAlways know, that when you looked in my eyes, you wanted nothing to do with me,you are a liar, and a fake tough guy@JohnDennisWeei
I think it has everything to do with the prior beef. The prior beef involved Dennis leaving a voicemail for Russillo in which he challenged him to pick a fight with Dennis because Dennis would kick his ass.
From the tweets between the two today, I'd guess Russillo picked last night to confront him (six years after the fact) and Dennis backed down, or at the very least didn't follow through on his promise to "rip [his] fucking ears off and [his] nose off and....shove them up [his] fucking ass and kick [his] balls up around [his] head." And "Rotillo" decided to call him on it via twitter.
At 5:13 tonight, Russillo tweeted: "@JohnDennisWEEI That's one version, why didn't you follow through on your promise? You threatened me, had me fired and then backed down."
Then at 5:30, he added: "@JohnDennisWEEI You call me again, or we can get in a ring for charity. You in?"
TBL claims the two got into a verbal altercation last night at the ESPN shindig, and certainly both characters are reflecting that something went down on their Twitter accounts—with Dennis saying Russillo was "unintelligible" while Russillo openly wants to fight Dennis.
In the end, they both sound like wannabe tough-guy douchenozzles. And that's probably what they are—Dennis, at least, has a history of being a racist. But if anybody out there can provide a bit more context into what went down in Indianapolis last night between the two, let us know.
Update (7:25 p.m.): Dennis claims Van Pelt apologized to him after the incident.
Update (10:22 p.m.): Here's the report from reader Mark:
I saw the altercation. it was in an alley outside the Bud Light
Hotel. Defintiely wasn't the ESPN party. Rusillo definitely got in
Dennis' face. Dennis didn't make eye contact with Ryan and walked
away. Dennis always looks wasted when I see him so it's hard to tell
if he was drinking or not! Ryan left with a few guys and that was
about it. Didn't even have time to videotape anything.
I'm not sure what the Bud Light Hotel is—last time I was in Indy I stayed at a Hampton Inn—but the details are interesting. Mark wrote back to clarify that the fight "definitely happened" after 2 a.m., and we know how wonderfully things turn out that take place after that hour.
Update (10:33 p.m.): Talk Superstation reminded me that the Bud Light Hotel is where that Playboy party was happening, which just ties everything together perfectly.
This morning I wanted to hear talk about Peyton and Colts and the effect it would have on the NFL.
I don't know, maybe because other than the Saints bounty scandal it's the top sports story that just happened last night? Maybe becauase Manning is one of the best QBs of all time and was just let go by his team? Maybe because the Colts and Manning have been the Patriots and Brady's primary rival for the last decade? Maybe because there is potential for him to land right in the AFC East? Why would anyone care what D&C or T&R think about Peyton Manning? Hasn't it been covered ad nauseum on all the media outlets? I think that's why T&R do well because they don't do the ESPN-esque overload.
I think what Carmine was saying is what expertise or new angle do D&C have on the Manning story? Anything that those guys say are going to be what you read about on line today and they don't seem to have any connections to the Colts franchise that could give you a different spin (maybe Vinatieri, but I doubt it). Basically, D&C are going to hammer you over the head with what all of the national football guys are talking about, mix in a few NY opinions and then determine how this will affect the Pats.I don't know, maybe because other than the Saints bounty scandal it's the top sports story that just happened last night? Aside from there, I have no idea why anyone would care what T&R or D&C had to say about anything,
None. My point is, you're not really making a case for D&C if you're listening to it to hear them speculate where Manning is going to end up. They know just as much as you do.""""""And any affect on the Patriots is pure speculation because who knows where Manning will end up: Arizona, Washington, Seattle, SF, Miami, the Jets. All seem to be in play.""""" Just about everything that is talked about on sports radio is speculation, how is this any different?
I'm not sure that I was trying to make a case for D&C except that they have gotten a lot better lately and this morning was just an example of them talking about something that I wanted to listen to. In the past most of the morning would have been spent talking about the GOP Primaries instead of sports.None. My point is, you're not really making a case for D&C if you're listening to it to hear them speculate where Manning is going to end up. They know just as much as you do.
That's not much of an improvement, Jason.well, Dale is filling all of next week for Dino
Chad Ochocinco ‏@ochocinco
Keep waiting fucker RT@HeyCallahan: Can the Patriots hurry up and cut@ochocinco so I can stop following? He's wearing me out. It's work.
They've had that webcam up for well over a year now. Might even have been there before NESN started airing D&C.so its looks like they have activated the NESN cameras for the rest of the shows as a webcam for online listeners
100%. I was so sick of them by the time T&R became a morning reality. T&R pushed D&C back to listenability. I don't stay with either one exclusively anymore. As soon as Fred starts to stammer, I change it to D&C, as soon as John asks a 4-part question in that odd little inflection he does that makes him sound like a condescending prick, I go back to T&R. Dale with Callahan is as close to great as they're going to get on EEI in the morning.I usually listen to D&C in the mornings since they stopped talking about politics. When they are limited to just sports talk they are much better than T&R. And I say this as someone who absolutely despised them, and refused to listen to them, for years.
I vote for Felger, Callahan and Holley; or a Felger and Ordway comboDale and Callahan are much better than Dennis and Callahan. But it's still Dale, and most mornings I don't feel like hearing Ned Flanders giving his takes on sports.
Felger and Callahan would be an unbeatable pair. But it'll never happen unfortunately.
