He specifically mentioned that it's a shift in the past couple of years, going so far as to mention that several years ago you would always trade a hitter for a pitcher.

Yeah, but in all fairness, Curll is basically wrong about everything and is fully aware he has anti-social tendencies.

Fox and TBS own the exclusive rights to the game's images until they choose to release them.  No different than the Olympics and pay-per-view events in that respect.  Could be they hadn't granted permission to air the highlights at that point.

Fox and TBS definitely don't "own the exclusive rights to the game's images until they choose to release them."  Baseball owns the copyright in all the broadcasts; there are likely contractual terms with ESPN/TBS/FS1 regarding when others can show clips.

You say tomayto, I say tomahto.  Bottom line is that ESPN didn't have permission to air highlights at the time KO was on the air.
