"minor" issue. So yeah.

According to the NHL’s collective bargaining agreement, Krejci will miss a minimum of seven days, but it can be retroactive to the day the injury was suffered (Saturday, Oct. 4).

Goddammit I thought the Patriots killing the Bengals was going to fix 2014.

So he misses the first 3 games.  Soderberg probably moves up to center the first line, leaving

Marchand-Bergeron-Smith

Robbins-Spooner-Paille

Krejci missed practice on Tuesday after leaving Saturday night’s preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings in the second period following a collision with the boards.

Did anyone see the injury? Do we have any idea if it's his head, shoulder, finger, etc? Hopefully this isn't a concussion and is more of a precautionary measure.

I really hope they use this opportunity to give Spooner some minutes with legitimate NHL forwards and don't put him on a line with Bobby Robins.

I'm not sure what the roster and cap implications of short term IR are, but I'd much rather see Florek called up to be on on that 4th line than Robins. I have a feeling he's going to be for most of the season anyway. I understand that his contract situation means they don't have to expose him to waivers, but he's the perfect long term fit for their 4th line. He's a solid 2-way player who can be trusted on the PK. And he has potential to possibly be a top 9 guy eventually.

Also, aren't we glad we didn't waive Chris Kelly now?

edit: for the record, I LOVE Bobby Robins as a guy, and 13th forward who dresses occasionally vs the John Scotts and Zac Rinaldos of the world. Just don't see how this team is better with him over Florek on the 4th line on a regular basis

Thought I would bump this. Krejci still appears to be dealing with the same injury and Julien said he won't travel to Toronto or Montreal. Playing him in the Edmonton game seems like a dumb decision in hindsight.

Well I consider all groin injuries to be pretty personal.

I thought it was a hip injury? Is hip code for groin now?

You are like the third person I have seen or heard mention this.  Why does everyone think this is the issue possibly?  He hurt himself in the last exhibition game didn't he?  It's just a lingering injury I would think.
